I was reading a poker magazine the other day and noted that lots of the WSOP bracelets are won in games such as Stud and Omaha, with some of these tournaments only having fields of a few hundred. So surely it would be a good idea to become skilled at these games, this could give you a much better chance of being a world champ!
Any thoughts people?

If you are just starting out avoid Hi Low Omaha initially as this will probably only confuse you.
IMO omaha, omaha hi/lo, stud and draw are all better types of poker than holdem.
Use to play all of them on pokerroom many years ago.
Still hoping sky will introduce one of them someday. There still must be a market for them otherwise the other big poker sites would'nt still run them.
And in answer to your question yes, as these games are normally played on a limit/pot limit basis you take away the all in bet and so need patience/decent gameplan.
Just my opinion.
;-)
I play SNG Omaha games and do ok in them, they would suit your game as well, as all the others say, it is better to avoid the HiLo variant and remember to always draw to the nuts in Omaha, the winning hand rankings are far higher!!

That's all the information you're getting from me
I'm not sure what's on offer on other sites in terms of satellites - but if they do exist then surely becoming versed in one of these forms would be a good way to have a shot at winning a big package at some major event (and therefore win a free trip and experience etc, as well as a better chance at being world champion as mentioned above) again as you are not going to have to play through so many competitors.
There is easier money to be made online in other forms of the games like OMAHA but i reckon it would be harder to win a bracelet in those events as they are full with proffesionals and are more deepstacked.
The nl1500 events have really fast structures and are full with bad players so u would at least have a better chance of cashing in one of those.
And if it's 4 cards per player I'll need a bigger telly. We only just managed to get that nice Mr Churchill's head on ours.
