SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE FROM 9PM! The weekend on 865 continues with Rich and Carlo ***official show thread

So we liked spending four hours together so much we've decided to do it all over again tonight. Yep, it's Richard Orford and Carlo Citrone LIVE tonight on Sky Poker TV (Channel 865) from 9pm till 1am.

Don't forget, if you haven’t got Sky, or someone else in the household is monopolising it; you can always stream the live shows via the Sky Poker.com homepage.

On the agenda tonight-

Full coverage of The Sunday Roller, the 9pm UKOPS Super Sat and, if it's still going, live updates from the final table of SPT Leg 1

No guest tonight and with many of our regulars still up in Nottingham playing on the tour, Carlo and I will really need your input to make the show fly.

So, here's your topics...

with the clocks going back an hour today we ask...

(1)  What's your best time to play poker?

Is there a particular part of the day that suits your temperament? Are you a morning person? Do you like to unwind after work for an hour? Or have you got it narrowed down to 3am-4am as your optimum time to be on the baize? And what about generally over the year? Do you do better in the summer months or in the winter?  In short, does WHEN you play poker have any affect on your success at it?

And...

with Carlo having pledged to grow a moustache during November for charity as part of the Movember challenge. We ask...

(2) What's the most embarrassing hairstyle, facial hair, fashion faux pas?

What's the worst style crime you've ever committed? Did you once sport a mullet? Or, if you're a lady, have you only just get shot of the Rachel cut? Bad sideburns? Big flares? Tell us all and, ideally, email us a photo on skyopen@bsky.com

Looking forward to 'seeing’ you all at 9pm!

Should be fun! See you there!

Play weekends only as no time to put in a meaningful session during the week. Never play when I have my son here either, so that's most Saturday days (he's away this weekend though :D )

I tend to put in marathon sessions - 30 hours isn't unusual - and that's it for the week. I have to compartmentalise things so Sat night through Sunday is my poker time then, come Monday, back to normal routine.

As for most embarrassing hair moment, had to get the missus to help shave my back/shoulders/stomach etc as I was starting to resemble a silverback gorilla. Someone on another forum I am a member of saw my avatar photo and asked why my arms were so dirty... it was hair....

    (1)  What's your best time to play poker?
Well this is an interesting topic because I recently stumbled upon a major leak in my game through the time I play. I've been grinding the DYMs for my challenge in an effort to get into the TSP freeroll and recently to get more volume in, I was getting my laptop on within about 5 mins of getting home from work
(6pm-ish) and starting  playing and I noticed a few days ago I was always starting my sessions badly and ending them very well to either get myself back to break even or into profit. But obviously I could be in much more profit if I cut out the bad bit. Fellow DYMer Poker_Fail did a sharkscope graph for me of my average ROI from DYMs by time of day and my average ROI awful (well into the minus) in the hour of 6pm but very good everywhere else.

So now, I get home from work, give myself some time to chill out, get in the right mindframe and then start my DYMs and I felt much about doing this in my last session. So I play fro about 7pm til about 11pm/Midnight Mon-Fri just while I'm trying to get tons of volume in to win my place in the TSP freeroll for this quarter.

    (2) What's the most embarrassing hairstyle, facial hair, fashion faux pas?

Well I guess it's debatable what you call embarrassing but when I was around 17-18 I used to have hair quite a big past my shoulders during my 'heavy metal' phase lol. I've even attached a before and after picture from when I had the big chop...

Cheers for this, Paul, but since the photos will take a long time to be approved, could you attach them to an email and send them instead to skyopen@bskyb.com?

    Ta!

1, My best time to play poker always tends to be in the evening. I've always been a night time person so I tend to start playing anytime after 7pm.

I also give myself an hour or so after work before I start playing just so i'm in the right frame of mind.

    2. I had two embarrassing hair styles when I was in my teens.

The first wasn't my choice to be fair.

A few mates had the short spikey gelled style that was popular in the late 80's /early 90's so off I went to the local barbers to ask for the same style.

The trouble is he's an old fashioned barbers who didn't have a clue how to do this style and I ended up with an american flat top. I looked like i'd just come out of the marines.

I then discovered hard rock music shortly after this and decided to grow a mullet. I had this for about 4 years. At the time you think you look the bees knees.

It's not until you look through your old photos a few years later that you see just how stupid you looked.

Great to see Carlo just now ripping into sports betting on Top of the Pots - let us know when the boys fromSky Bet come round for a word - Richie staying tight lipped during that little outburst, but loved Carlos honesty and integrity, fronting up to his paymasters!

    Have a great show everyone.

My best time to play poker is in the evenings.  The reason for this is that I work during the day so can only play in the evenings.   On the days I don't work, I play in the evenings.  This is because I look after my daughters those days and only play when they are both sleeping.  As much as I love playing poker, my kids come first.  For example, today I have had to watch two barbie movies with them and had to answer questions like " Is Barbie from this universe Daddy?"  instead of playing poker.  My brain is just coming out of the pink fog lol.

I have had one or two good haircuts.  In the late 80's through to the late 90's, I had hair that Anna Fowler would have been proud of!  I am now proudly sporting a shaved head with goatee that is now longer than my thumb.  Well I like it anyway and my kids love pulling it when they give me a kiss!

I just wanted to point out, no-one (me included) has mentioned the main reason we play at night which is because that's where all the fishies come out lol. That's when you get more people who are just up for a gamble, maybe they've had a drink or two, and just want a bit of fun and a bit of action, which is ideal if you play to make a bit of cash :)

My suggestion to team was to use 50 for Primo entry and if I made cash give extra winnings to charity. I originally said half my winnings but the weekend has been good to me on felt!

    (1)  What's your best time to play poker?

Any time when there's weaker players online. Which for me, isn't very often.

    (2) What's the most embarrassing hairstyle, facial hair, fashion faux pas?

My ex convinced me to buy a Pacman hoodie from a clothes shop in Leeds, I wore it out twice, and usually had people staring at me. It's a shame because it's really comfortable, so I just wear it around the house now. I'll e-mail a photo later :)
