Here was my theory.

1: no raised pot pre-flop, so figuring no-one to have a huge hand.
2: no interest on the flop from anybody, so figuring the second queen to be a good card for me. flat call from big blind also didnt worry me as I felt at worst i was chopping. as he didnt raise pre-flop, i didnt put him on ak, aq. kq was a possibility but unlikely. any other queen, i felt sure he would of put out some kind of bet on the flop. my only concern would be, as he was bb, he could of had a raggy king but if he did, good luck to him.
3: blank river, i intended to check call the river whatever happens. although I dwelled up on my 'hero' call at the end, it actually convinced me even more i had the best hand.
Surely it is only in the interest of the bettor to over-bet the river (with the nuts) if he felt sure i was going to call. how could he think i had a queen. surely i would of bet the river with a full house??
Therefore with such a big bet, i felt confident my hand was good.

AK!!! this was the one hand i never could of put him on.

Was this a really bad call from me???? great, if not unorthodox, play from the guy with AK???

Please note: I do not pretend to be a great player, or think i know what im talking about. just thought id share my thoughts with how the hand went. Would really like some feedback, as im always looking at ways to improve my game

    Fold turn 100% fold river

in the BB he could have checked and raggy K high hand.

At best your calling to split the pot.

if he had K2 he prob plays the hand the same way

Yep, easy fold here on the river.

Couple of points/questions, as i am a tourney donk!

Why are'nt we raising it up pre flop?

If your gonna have a pop at it on the turn, betsizing needs to be bigger.

Thanks for this great insight into why it was a terrible call!! lol. Like I said im not pretending i am a great player, but thanks for the feedback guys. it is now hurting me a little more, knowing that it really was a huge mistake.

Also I didnt raise pre-flop as the table were serial limp-callers and didnt really fancy raising pot OOP with a hand that so often gets me into trouble.....although it still managed to do that anyway!!!

Thanks anyway guys, maybe if i sort leaks like this out, ill soon be making a profit!

I wasnt calling to hit a gut-shot! i called on the river. as my analysis says, i felt my 2pair, top kicker might of been good at this point. i know that i wasnt getting the right price to call, but it was just a hunch i was correct.

    more fool me

The best you can hope for is a split pot and with just 900 in there by river there's no need to risk it.
