"Double" Top Ups in MTT

I was playing in the 5:20pm £25G today and was puzzled by a player who was knocked out, bought back in, and as the next hand was dealt the chatbox said **** has topped up their balance to 3,650, rebuy was for 2,000!

 Later, during the "Top Up" period another player topped up twice?!. Please, how can that happen?
