Lol, its no good getting it in good and getting outdrawn pretty much every time. I am seriously thinking about putting NL8 in Area 51! My spreadsheet shows i make a very good profit margin at NL4 and a very good profit margin at NL10 but NL8 i have made about £2 in probably 4 or 5 months playing there due to these type of hands. It just seems to be my nemesis, cant beat it! I even try getting it in bad and i dont hit! No matter what i do i never come out of it well at all. lol

I think there is some logic to NL8 been harder to beat than NL4 and NL10. NL4 is obviously full of donks and fish because it's the lowest level there is. So novice players who are just learning will most likely be playing NL4. The other thing is that when players join Sky poker they get £10 free as a joining up bonus. Many players new to poker will just take this £10 and put in on a NL10 table. However the only people who would ever be playing NL8 are players who have made enough proffit at NL4 for their bankroll to allow the level up.

Its an interesting post jungle. I agree that NL8 is harder than NL10 and obviously at NL4. Some nice points as to why this is the case, i usually get shot down for suggesting this.

NL8 isnt hard enough for me to think i am out of my depth but i just dont seem to run good at this level, hands dont hold up too often in my experience. I dont tilt too much, and i understand and embrace the variance in the game. The poorer players would never return if they never won so its nice to get outdrawn occassionally, it keeps the wheel of the game turning and ensures certain players keep coming back for more.

NL8 seems different, i dont run at all well, never have done at this level. I know a sample over a few months is not big enough for me to trudge my way over to area 51 with this (yet) but it has started to just wind me up a little. I have put similar threads on this before but it just keeps happening to the point i dont wander off to NL8 that often now due to this. I have gone over HH and although i do make mistakes, i have no problem 'getting it in good' but the miracles keep coming!

Not a brag by any means but the last time I played cash I found NL8 to be super good for me in terms of getting my money in ahead/awful players etc and would always choose it over NL10.

In terms of concentration of REGs/nits I'd say NL10 is miles worse imo, I even remember sessions playing NL8 and browsing NL10 tables where it was 4/5 regs to a table sometimes 6 lol.

These hands you post above are mega cool for you as it shows you're playing very well and needing to get super unlucky to lose, and you're not a silly billy so know variance will level out long term, one word matey VOLUME !!!

    1. 100% bet turn, why would you not? If he calls flop c/r he calls turn bet of about £3. Not betting turn is burning money longetrm.

    2. Not sure about turn bet he has 2x pot bet behind so just bet standard 3/4-80% so £2.30 get rest on river.

I knew i'd get mullered for the first hand, and rightly so but i had been very aggro on this table and had been played back at in the last orbit or so especially by this particular villain. I had a strong feeling i would get the lot if i showed weakness. Obviously i bet this normally but i had been shoved on after c-betting a couple of times and had to fold and also been floated once or twice, was hoping for that to happen. Not optimal, but i got there.

This is the reason why i shove the turn in the earlier hands. NL8 always hurts you on the river without fail.

My only mistake was probably the call on the end but did i have to call it?
