There were 8 left at this point so this was a big hand and I really wanted that seat!  Not sure if I've made my 3 bet too small, obviously I'm looking to get action from a caller and shove pretty much any flop that doesn't come an A.

    How many seats were there?

How many chips would be average for the ppl who qualify? 1 in 10? so 20k? (if it's 2k starting stack)

Normally it's a v easy shove pre flop but mayybe you can take the high risk line & play it for max value to get right bak in the game.

Ofc you risk this kinda thing happening.

There were 2 seats on offer and around £180 for 3rd spot.  Which was a 1 in 10 payout and 28 runners in total.

I know my line is more risky than just shoving here but like you said if I get maximum value here I'm right in the mix for a seat which is why I opted for th 3 bet.

I'm trying not to be results orientated and just analyse if I played it right given the line I chose to take.

LOL you didn't 3bet you raised, the guy open limped with 13bbs.

Still with just 2 seats paid defo shove pre, looks weaker and can get loose calls.

when the action gets to you pre i would make it 950 more ~(essentially half of short stack's remaining stack).  this puts over half of villain's stack at risk but also leaves you the option to bump it again if he shoves and action comes back round to you.

    villain played this awful.

Not at all John, I posted because I was unsure if I played it right, bad beats happen, I can live with that.  I had KK cracked 3 times last night but this is the only one I posted because I'm always keen to improve my play.

    Thanks for the advice though.
