I presume you mean that the flop is so dry that you are worried that if you bet he will fold and as you are after his head prize is it worth checking the flop hoping connects on the turn? the villian already commited nearly 20% of his stack pre so we can assume that he had something pre. it would probably look more suspicoius if you didnt bet here and as a firm believer that you should always bet your hand i would c bet the same amount as you would if you hadnt hit the flop and hope he has something worth calling and that there is no bullet on the turn

Make it anywhere between 600 and 900 should be ok on this flop. 3/4 pot would be the standard raise.

Cheers fellas, i had it in my mind to shove on a none A flop, with pot being 1120.

If i had bet 3/4 pot on flop, like most of you say, i could have maybe got away.

    Cheers again,

That is unlucky, as you say you may have got away if you 3 bet and Joe would have called or raise, if the raise you wouldn't have known where you are in the hand there for I personally would have folded,

Pre flop bet was good in my opinion so don't lose faith. I am sure you will do well,

looking at stacks you want to bet enough to make the short stack raise to all in, reason being it allows the otherf villain to flat then short stack shoves allowing you to re shove leaving big stack villain in a very tough posistion. This way your getting max value but obv he had 99 here so just UL
