1st what is you plan when calling with 77 after an UTG raise a 3-bet and a cold call from the small blind? If it's to flop a set and then win the pot then you played the rest of the hand fine.

However you need to be sat with a full buy-in and here's why:

You will flop a set when you have a pocket pair 12% of the time or about once every 8 times. So, assuming that you win everytime you flop a set then you need the amount you are going to win each time you flop a set to be more than 8 times the price to call pre-flop. As you have demonstrated here you will not win the pot every time you flop a set, sometimes you may lose and sometimes you opponent(s) might totally miss the flop and fold to your bets on the flop.

Generally you need at least 15 times the price to call in the effective stack for it to be profitable, unless you think that you can win the hand without making a set (unlikely with 66 and the action pre-flop here). This is why you should be playing cash games with at least 100BBs. Sit down with £10 here and you would lose money to alfie4paws but win money from diva.

This is refered to as implied odds. It is important to take the effective stack size into account when playing weak hands that will only be ahead on certain flops.

fold pre, you are nowhere near deep enough to flat. If you really want to play shove

stationing 30% stack to SM is just bad, your cold calling a 3bet.  fold or shove to iolate.  being prepared to reload.  Mostly fold tho.

But then open shoving the supposed miracle?
