I would seriously recommend deepstack tournaments get in the monday night DTD you can find details in the general poker chat section. 3 tournaments for £5 great bunch of people all happy to help bit of banter but also alot of extremely good players to learn from at such a low buy in!! No other site will offer that at such a low stake well worth it.
Wish you all the luck at your tables and keep that attitude through the thicks of poker you will do just fine :)

    thanks walesboy :)
batkin, i will look into that tonight, if i'm free, as i'm staying at my dads, and he keeps badgering me for a game :)

yesterday, as a bit of an experiment, i had a go at playing my original game, before i got the advice i've been given here, it was a disaster :0 i'm amazed at how bad my old game is, and have firmly put it in the past.
not to bad though, as reverted back to what i've been told, and read on here, so i'm currently sat £2 down on my bankroll. i will be aiming to get that back today in 2p/4p cash in abit, and hope to get on the tourny mentioned tonight.

would i be right in assuming that the 8.30pm event i'd want is, "take on tikay" ???

    18 Wheeler.

This is such a great thread.

I can relate tot his so much too as I am not long playing and am finding out all sorts to help my game.

    Keep the posts coming.

Also try and get into a team. I have joined team51 and was probably the best move I made. They have taught me loads.

Yes TOT is the event you need tonight, GL.

    cheers nug  ;)
i keep seeing the whole team thing,  how did you get in mate?
i'm enjoying the learning process, i just love to play, so would like to learn to be a better player, the tips on here have def helped. just been on the 2p/4p, playing the correct way for a beginner, but just had a bad afternoon, £3.50 down, but, all part of the learning curve.
i'm gonna try and do the tourny thing tonight, see you there maybe :)

Hope I don't see you there lol. may take me out.

Go to the team talk and see what team you would like to join. leave a message to say you are interested (make it stand out). They will send you a PM (private message) and go from there.

As you say it is a learning curve. Did you manage to read DOHHHHH statement in POKER SCHOOL on playing small stakes? It is unreal. What a legend for putting that up, give it a read.
I have read it twice still not sure on implied odds ECT.. but well worth a read.

GL on joining a team. Maybe Team 51. 9if Carlsburg did teams)

    GL

Couple of quick tips on tournament play as your coming from playing cash do with this what you may!! :)

Always know how many big blinds you have

Posistion is crucial try not to play out of posistion unless planning or very strong

Be patient players will quickly move up the chip leaderboard it doesnt matter go through the motions as you see fit

Try not to drop under 14 bb if you do conserve your stack and pounce at the first sign of weakness from a player or when you turn a decent hand.

Try to be the initial raiser in hands play dont be afraid to throw away premium hands if pot has been raised into you pre flop

Last of all run well and good luck i will be rooting for you

nug, i will look into the team thing, prob need a little bit more time on my own, before i start hassling people :)
i havn't read that yet, on the small bets, but will do it before i try the 2/4p tables tomorrow, i'll leave them tonight as i'm going to try tonights tournaments :0

batkin, thanks again for the advice, it is greatly appreciated ;)
i will stick to my guns as you said with position play, tight if early betting, and abit looser when position is right, and have the cards to match ;)

like the advice on not being afraid to fold premium hands pre flop, if re raised, ta. also noted to try and not get near, having less than 14bb's left.
the thing i really want to concentrate on tonight, is being abit more aggesive on weaker plays, i need to much better at this. oh well, we'll see how tonight goes, i'm looking forward to it.

    quick update.
played the 3 tournaments last night, enjoyed it, but didn't play great, think i under betted some of my better hands, but i will learn. also had issues once the last tourney started, the tables wouldn't swith automatically for some reason??? prob something i did! so missed alot of play in the t.o.t event. my best place in the 3 events was 37th. played alot earlier, and to be honest, i was pants, hands were not great, but i was rubbish, so the bank roll is down. all part of the learning curve.
played a tournament a while ago, think there was 30 of us at the start, and i only **** won :) really chuffed with this, small victory, but very happy. played steady, and the right way, then later on in the game, the hands just kept coming right, and this time, i bet well, i think, and i won, happy days.
so the prize is entrance in tonights 21.30 2k bh. guess this is a league above me, but more experience, so i'll try and have fun.

    cheers nug.
think i came 89th, of the 268 starters, which if i'm honest i was quite chuffed with.
i played a decent game, and think i bet my hands much better this time.
when i went out, i was getting lowish on blinds, and my hole cards were A,Q, clubs suited. decided this was my all in, flop dropped, think it was a spade, and 2 more clubs, the turn and river cards came, no clubs, other guy had a straight. still had fun, and was chuffed, think i was in about 1 and 3/4 hours in total :)
took 1 bounty aswell, woo, hoo!

thanks legend, i'm sticking with 2p/4p at mo.
tried 5p/10p a couple of times, but bit out of my league for now.
i have done a few low stake dym's, quite like the format and do relatively well.
last night was my best result yet. entered a bounty hunter tournament, think it was a £5 event.
out of 68 players, (i think) that entered, i came in 4th, i was chuffed to bits and won approx £27    :)
