Attention All DYM Players

Can I please urge any players who spot ANY collusion in ANY DYM to please report it.

Over the last couple of days what I have seen has been slightly shocking, from a player not bothering to report it "because they cashed anyway so what does it matter", to a player openly admitting it this evening in the chat box, i can only assume that they thought what they were doing was allowed.

Whilst I appreciate that this will only have a small impact as only a small percentage of players will read the forum, even if it urges one person to report a case then it's done some good.

    +1 Shanxta

I don't play them very often anymore but I always report things like that. I've also reported a couple of people who were hurling abuse at me cos they lost a hand against me, and got them chat banned :) lol

SHANXTA - Did you report the players involved? What level were these players playing?

Wynne1938 - Look out for two or more players who appear to be working together. One spot would be chip dumping where one player intentionally loses their chips to another player e.g. Colluding player 1 is big stack and purposely loses their chips to put colluding player 2 who is short stacked back into the game.

    +1 to this

I have seen some terrible examples of this at £3 & £5

Very hard to prove if there’s no chat

Hubby says they use Mobile Phones to tell each other what cards they have and the best hand takes on the Player.?
Thus eliminating opposition.  No need for chat box chat.
Please be careful of accusing players, as I got tangled up in collusion accusations myself just by chatting innocently thinking it was fun banter.  I took out the low stack and he accused me of Collusion with the other players.   He told me in the chat box he was going to complain to Sky and report me.  I think he just didn't believe I had AA and wanted his money back.
As I had done nothing wrong I thought no more about it, until Sky Banned me.   I was not given any chance to put my side of events or explain anything and have since campaigned to get Sky to be more open when banning players.

I'm still angry (as you would be)  for being given the ban which branded me a cheat.
I play poker for fun, not money and my account would have verified this had they taken the trouble to look.
The players that say don't bother reporting it as nothing will be done,  are wrong.
The trouble is the wrong players get accused while the true perpetrators get away with it.

If Hubby is right how can Sky stop what they are doing. ?   Annie x

is this actually happening? never noticed it before, but gilber now you mention it i have seen a large stack raise to the small stack then fold when the small stack goes all in.  I did think whats the point of raising then folding for an extra 200-300 or  whatever it was?!?!

ill keep an eye out for it now i know these DYM's are hard enough without people cheating as well

cases like this are rare, but they do happen

on another poker site I believe there was a mass ring of Chinese/Far East players who would all sit at DON (double or nothing, same as DYM) and grind out a tiny edge, but these were at like the 100$-1k$ games so obviously even a small edge meant a large amount of monty over time.

the best thing to do is do as the OP says. report any suspect behaviour.

I HAVE TO BE HONEST I`V NEVER REALLY NOTICED BUT WILL KEEP EYE OPEN, I ALSO HAVE TO ADMIT WHEN I SAW MY BRO ON A DYM (30 OR60p) I REGGED BUT THE FIRST THING I DID WAS SAY SAID PLAYER WAS MY BRO AND THERE IS NOW LOVE LOST WHEN WERE ON SAME TABLE, WE WANT TO KNOCK EACH OTHER OUT, ALTHOUGH I DO AVOID IF I SEE HIM NOW BUT HE VERY RARELY PLAYS NOW.

I agree with you sporny,i've played/come across my brother on this site in multi table tourneys, and nothing would give me greater pleasure than knocking him out of tourney even more than a low level cashing!Never played him on dyms, but i imagine any moves we tried to make against each other would look suspect just because we would make iffier(is that a word?)calls against each other!! But as op says if you see any iffy calling down on dyms or just something that doesn't seem right call the customer care/complaints people.Simples.

It did start to occur to me when i was playing lately at some DYM's that some tactics seemed odd. However, my naivety didn't even consider collusion. I thought it was just very poor play. You can tell i'm relatively new to the game! I shall report if i feel aware of oddities and leave it to experts to judge and take action. If there is cheating going on then 'silly' play may ,in fact, be collusion. Let's stamp it out. It can do no good. Cheers for making me aware of the possibility.

I undertsnad some ppl are new players and don,t understand sometimes , but i tend to make a note of there names if i suspect anything and then watch to see if they play in the same games again, then if see a similar pattern I,ll report there alias,s

In the year or 2 that DYM,s have been going i,ve only had to do it twice though , so wouldn,t get to paranoid that its rife or anything

Sometimes what appears to be blatant collusion is just a mistake.

I was playing a DYM a few months ago,  two players got in going preflop,  somehow there was one player with 15 chips left by the river and the other guy had about 2,500 chips.   it was on the bubble and and I had around 1300 chips.  The guy with the big stack checked the river, the short stack bet his last 15 chips into a 1800 pot.... and the big stack folded.  Needless to say I was less than pleased.

I reported it to customer services, turns out these two players had never played togeather before.  They were watched for a while and never seemed to play togeather again.  It was just a misclick or the guy wasn't paying attention. maybe he was multi tabling.

Anyway , it's woth taking note that if you do suspect someone, report it to customer care, they can look beyond the "one Game" incident that you see and find out if there is something going on .

How do you  know this ?  i  thought any  information of   collusion/ cheating  investigations  was  kept  private , under the guise of   the data protection act .

Report it, may be innocent as if they are regs then with not many games running during the daytime they will be in the same games.

Cust care will look in to it though

    Bump,

I'm in mini view so can't see chat box, although had this hand just now, which is really strange. Have already sent to customer care to have a look. Really shouldn't be a fold option for the small blind in this situation tbh.
