Away Players Solution

i have a great solution to away players esp. in freeroll tournys.
it is simple one that is used on another site (i wont mention)

all they do is any player that is away for the whole of the 1st level of blinds gets kicked off.
i think this should apply to all tables, and as i can see would solve alot of away players taking up seats.

please adopt this sky as it will work

    although i agree that "away players" are annoying, i do not agree that they should be kicked.. if i were running late for a game and found i had been kicked i would not be happy!!

    Yeah I agree with bigflop, and frankly, if you can't take chipsof a guy that's not at the table, then your game needs some work.

    The point  which you have failed to  notice is , that if  you are on a table  with  say 3 or  4 aways ,  although  you are able  to steal the blinds , you are actually  at a disadvantage   compared  to a  table  where all are sat in ,  because  you are missing out  on getting any sort of action  with good hands .  A point  all of the   " free chips " brigade   completely fail to  mention !

    Idk if there's actually anything much that can be done about away players. However, I think they should auto-fold every hand, rather than check/folding. Nothing tilts me more than when someone is away, and they win a pot because the small blind doesn't know that raising, or putting in a min bet would make them fold.

    you only need a solution if there is a problem

    this  reoccurring "issue" with away players is not a problem imo

    Its the nature of freerolls. learn to accept it, or pay to play

    I play the occasional freeroll and i enjoy them as they are, away players or no away players. In fact i prefer away players, its easier to win!

    sky obviously  regard it as a problem  though ,  because their response   as to why the  fb and  saturday  super  6  freerolls   were  made point   buy ins  was to reduce the amount of  " aways "  and  make it a better  playing   experience  for everyone .......THEIR  WORDS ....lol

    yeah it did reduce it but you acnnot stop it completly.. if ppl want to pay 50 points to enter and ot play its up to them..

    I'd have to agree with the majority here, but as EvilPingu points out it can be improved by forcing auto fold.

    Still amazes me how many players dont realise this! An "away" came 3rd in a DYM I was playing the other nite cos another player didn't realise this!!  Oh how we laughed!!
