Hi everyone,

Hope you will be tuning in tonight for our live show from 8pm, on Ch865, streaming live on SkyPoker.com and on  SkySports4 from 10pm.

We are covering:

15k Sky Sports Bounty Hunter which kicks off at 8pm
5k Sky Roller kicking off at 9pm.
All details can be found in the lobby.

 I am joined again by Stuart Rutter, who is taking the analyst seat only for the 2nd time.  If you find that he is talking about anything you don't get, please do drop me an email tonight or post on here, he is finding his feet with setting the right tone as I said before, so we need your guys' feed back.

Would like to say a big thank you for my DTD forum invite on Monday night.  Had a lovely time, and had a little cash :) Forgot to register for the 1st tournament though :(  Lesson learnt for next time! Super fun, get involved if you havn't already.

Tonight's Topic

I would like to chat about 'switching gears'.  As we know so important to winning a tournament is changing your game as the hours go by;do you find it hard? How do you know what to do if you rarley reach the final stages of a tournament? Do you play more/less hands, how far do you widen your hand range, do you play more 'gambling' hands?   If you have any advice you can give on your own game style, or any questions please do ask/post...

Also I am wondering if I win a point for having the most ridiculous think nicked this week...my shoes from outside my door!!  Left them outside because they were muddy (smelly old uggs) and someone took them!??


My last show before I see some of you at Luton, wondering who will be having a little warm up on the fri night??

    I'm looking forward to tonights show as I have heard great things about Mr Rutters first show the other day. I sadly missed it but will (hopefully) catch tonights. I say hopefully due to the fact I passed out a couple of times last night whilst playing in a tourney so am still a little shakey today. Hopefully I will have regained my composure and equilibrium by tonight and can participate in my Favourite tournament of the week. On changing gears I'd like to know what Stuart would class as changing gears? I assume most people mean changing up your style of play, but some really mean to play more hands. I personally just mix my play up more. Once your getting deep the table moves are less often so you can establish an image and then occasionally go against that image. I just increase this kind of play towards the business end. Hope that isn't incomprehensible. Best wishes. Shaun the Villa fan in Bham.

    A question for Stuart, how much would he bet on the river. He said several times last Saturday "Bet big" on the river.

    I have been experimenting with bet sizing on the river. I used to always "go to value town" and take 40% of the pot but am starting to believe that betting close to pot is more profitable. However, if you can get someone to call a ridiculous over bet then it more than makes up for all the folds that you get. This is a great topic for debate which Stuart seems to be an expert on.

    I didn't see his hand here so I guess that he picked up a flush or full house or maybe he just believed that I was at it.

    A question for Stuart....

    When shortstacked towards the end of a tourny,at what stage do you look to get all of your chips in? 10bb ? Or less?

    And when you do get them in, how much of your decision is influenced by your hand, and how much is it finding the right spot ?

    hi il be in luton for what should be a cracking weekend cant wait to get there as last two saturdays i have won the £45 freezeout so lets hope the spt will be my hattrick!! if only..... oh and thanks for the uggs (-:

    Its the smell & leather, we've lost loads, they are prob under a bush at the end of a garden, bit chewed mind!!

    Have a great show, Staurt was great the two times he's been on so far so i'm sure he will be great again tonight.

    As for switching gears, it's something i've struggled with and am now reading up and watching some videos on how to do this more effectively.

    I've always found it easy if i've got a less than an average stack or a shortstack, but when i've got a bigger stack I have tended to sit too tight when I should be applying pressure and calling shortstacks shoves wider in the right spots.

    Have a great show all.  Looking forward to seeing if Mr Rutters analysis is as good on tournaments as it was on the cash.  I'm betting it will be.

    I for one am glad the new studio won't be broadcasting in HD.  Remember for every Anna we have an Orford or a Tikay!  Scary!
