TWICE IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS PLAYERS ACTING OUT OF TURN HAS COST ME BIG TIME.THE FIRST TIME A PLAYER IN THE CUT OFF CHECKS,ON THE RIVER, I AM IN THE BIG BLIND WITH NOTHING BUT BELIEVE I CAN GET 1 OTHER OPPONENT IN THE HAND TO PASS.I THEN GO ALL IN, PLAYER 2 FOLDS AND THE GUY IN THE CUT OFF CALLS AND SHOWS THE NUTS.I WOULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT THE DODGY CHECK.I BELIEVE THIS IS CHEATING BUT IN THE RULES IT SAYS PLAYING OUT OF TURN IS WRONG BUT THERE IS NO PENALTY. THE SECOND TIME I AM AGAIN IN THE BIG BLIND AND FACE A MIN RAISE FROM 1 OPPONENT.I CALL.I FLOP AN OPEN ENDER BUT EVEN BEFORE THE FLOP IS DEALT THE RAISER ANNOUNCES ALL IN.I KNOW THEN HE HAS GOT AA AND DONT WISH TO CALL.HAD HE NOT DONE THIS I WOULD HAVE PUSHED ALL IN MYSELF AND PUT THE DECISION ON HIM.AGAIN I FEEL THIS IS CHEATING.I LOOK FORWARD TO READING ALL YOUR VIEWS.

Oh okay if you are on about live poker then this is known as angle shooting, and you should always think twice before you make any action as some players are slimey slimey people and use it as a way to induce these kind of bets.
In the club I play at any out of turn play brings an enforced check ( or call ) so in the 2nd situation above you could have checked and that would have forced the other player to check giving you a free card to hit your open ender ....
not much you can do about the first situation though ... live play sucks some times when folks pull stunts like that.
THANX FOR UR VIEW FBS IN THE SECOND INSTANCE THATS WHAT I THOUGHT BUT THE CARDROOM MANAGER SAID THE ALL IN BET HAD TO STAND.
In a well-run Cardroom, the Player would face a Penalty for the first offence, & disqualification for a 2nd offence, but there are only two Venues in the UK that would actually impose that - most Venues are nowhere near strict enough.
It's one of the drawbacks of Live Poker - we don't have uniform rules, anywhere in the world, & the Rules we do have are not consistently applied.
Correcting this is one of the fundamental principles of APAT, of which I'm proud to be (unpaid) Chairman, & over the last 4 years, the Team at APAT have taken great strides in correcting this ridiculous situation, but it takes time.
Online, we never have these problems of course. Those who decry Online Poker forget this - when you play Online, the Rules are set in stone. And, of course, you cannot act out of turn!
Mods - this Thread belongs in General Poker Chat.
This could never happen on the Sky Poker Tour, which is run to MUCH higher standards than this!
75% of the time its an accidental fold out of turn..... you cannot disqualify these people ........
Another example of him doing it, we had our yearly £3,000 FR and all river had been dealt... He bets out on the river and the other player is thinkingfor ages... as soon as the player thinking made any movement, he said "Two" then stopped... as if to say 2 pair... the player thinking then folds and the "angle shooter" laughs and says ha ha i had nothing, how else was i going to make you fold? NOW THAT IS NOT AN ACCIDENT AND SHOULD BE A DQ/WARNING
It's not always intentional to drive at 34mph in a 30, but it's still illegal, & ignorance or "accidental" is no excuse.
Acting out of turn affects the play far more than many players (usually inexperienced) realise. Online Players cannot do it Online, & do not realise that in Live Poker, it's against every set of Poker Rules ever written.
They should be Penalised on a Time or Orbit basis, on a totting up system. 1 Orbit first offence, 3 orbits 2nd Offence, Disqualified 3rd offence. They'd soon learn then.
If it were up to me, I'd have them shot on the spot. *
* Assume a smiley there please. I'm only half serious. **
** I'm only half-joking, too. There too much cheating & rule-bending in the game.
Anyway, he folds face up QQ.
My opponant has 55, and I double up.
The punchline? Nutter's dad would have hit quads.
In the end he knocked me out anyway (with an awful call, but that's what i get for bluffing).
