Discipline: choosing the correct cash game for you? How many regs follow this rule??

Hi there,

Just had an interesting thing happen, i have been playing HU 200nl over the last couple of weeks and came across alot of the same players. One in particular CELTICFAN just impressed me thought id mention it. After a couple of bouts with each other over the last couple of weeks he has lost a little bit, probably just due to variance more than anything as i am not a great cash player to be fair.
However what suprised me was his choosing not to continue playing me as he thought that it was not a game that he could beat comortably at that time. I HAVE NEVER COME ACROSS THIS BEFORE OR DONE IT MYSELF IS THIS WRONG???

Should i be taking more care over who i play, the obvious answer is yes of course i should, i know this, however its very hard to resist playing 'that guy who crushed you last time' in an effort to improve and also to get your money back.

Does anyone else regualrly sit out of matches that they dont feel quite right about? Is this the done thing? Iam confused? Am i doing things that wrong?

Cheers Kyle

Also im heading to luton next week for my 1st ever SPT event just decided today. yay.

I'd have thought if you're playing 200NL HU then I shouldnt be giving you advice but yes of course you need good table selection, probably in HU more than anything.

The nature of it being head to head means that if someone has a really good edge over you, you're gonna lose fairl consistently cos you can't hide and just play against the bad players at the table.

Revenge or not, why would you possibly want to play someone where you can win 6 out of 10 games against them rather than someone you can win 7-8 games out of 10 against? Ideally you want to play against the worst possible player you can find.
