Tonight- it's full thrust ahead with a beefy double-bill of big Sunday night games on Sky Poker- The Sunday Roller and The Primo.
We're live on Channel 865 from 9pm till 1am and it'll be our last ever show in this format and from this studio!
There to turn off the lights at the end will be myself and Sky's resident world-class pro Julian Thew.
We'd love to finish this particular chapter of Sky Poker TV with a bang so please do post on this thread or tweet us on #skypokertv
As well as all your tried and trusted poker banter, questions and hand requests here's a side-topic to think about.
As we look to change our studio envirnoment after tonight...
What sort of an environment do you play Sky Poker in?
e.g. is it in a roomful of screaming kids? Lying with your feet up on a laptop on a hammock? In your jim-jams? Suited and booted in an office and treating it like a 9-5 job? With every distraction under the sun on the go e.g. Facebook, Twitter, emails, TV, music, Messenger etc etc? Or in an airtight vaccuum with nothing but you and the computer?
Describe the circumstances in which you usually play, what time it is, who's with you amd what the pros and cons are in the way you do it.
Maybe, as well as discovering some quirky and amusing insights into our players we'll also pick up a few very good tips along the way of how improving your playing enviromment improves your poker.
Let's share stories and see what's out there in the strange world of the Sky Poker community!
I would say where dont i play sky, making dinner, folding washing, doing my work when at home, sitting with my feet up, putting the shopping away and even in the garden. The test where the wifi can go I do. Have a good last show and see u in Luton next week tina

once the baby is in bed asleep at 7.30pm i sit in the corner of the living room at the computer desk while the other half is sprawled out on the couch watching nonsense reality t.v shows usually, she is usually quiet as she is engrossed in big brother or some other rubbish, that is until i get a premium hand to which i am in deep thought as to how a can milk the hand and gain as many chippies as possible, it is at that precise moment she decides to babble on about dancing on ice or something along those lines. Never does she want to talk to me about tripe when i get hands full of feet thet i have to fold like 7,2 an 9,3 for eg. Or the little one wakes up screaming an its me that has to go into her. Does anyone else have these problems with there other half ? I think ear plugs is the way forward !
It's in the home office with a nice desk which is unfortunately full of bits of paper with lists of all different manner of things on. I really do need to keep my filing a bit neater.
I've also got a hifi, tv and x-box in here too. I don't tend to play with the tv on alot these days except if there's a football match on that I wan't to keep glancing at.
I tend to listen to more music when i'm playing. I just wish I could stop browsing the net when i've not got any action going. I know I play alot better when i'm watching the tables between hands but I still can't stop myself.
Good luck with the final show in the old studio.
Do you reckon you will feel a little exposed not sitting behind a desk in future ?
My set up used to be horrendous in terms of distractions...
Nowadays I just lie on the couch (it's one of them corner sofas) laptop on my knee, and the forum open for browsing and banter. I'll always have the tv on in the background or music, can't deal with silence.
I've been staying at my mum's for a little while and having to use her rubbish laptop/connection which literally cannot cope with me 2tabling lol, so it's been just the 1 table for me now for a while.
Question When have you got me lined up for my first analyst role in the new studio?
On a more serious note, I'd like to get Julian's thoughts on something I'd been pondering recently. In a heads up SnG where you both start with 1000 chips (3 minute blinds), at 10/20 and 15/30 what are your view on what your raise sizes should be preflop? I've just been found (taking 10/20 as an example) making it 40 gets zero folds, and making it 60 doesn't get much more, but making it more than that seems like way too much risk for very little gain... Thoughts please
What sort of an environment do you play Sky Poker in? Can only fit 2 or 3 tables on my laptop, which usually ends badly as I get bored and start 4-betting with 63o UTG. Therefore, I usually play on the desktop, with the laptop alongside (as this has all my records on, don't really want them on the family computer). Not usually a problem, until Dad walks in, and stands behind me while I'm playing up to 8 or 9 tables at once, and starts telling how online poker is stupid, the house always wins, I'm just wasting my money, etc.
The joys of being a college student and having not moved out yet...
In Response to Re: Sunday Night Live on 865 with Richard Orford and Julian Thew ***official show thread*** : I think you've been booked for the 30th February You're the analyst Spornybol's doing Stand Up (If his Missus lets him) Machka's in charge of competitions Greg Hogg's doing Makeovers and I'm talking drivel as usual! Should be a great show! lol Posted by DUNMIDOSH

Come On! Your timing, Sparkling wit, bald as a coot! You're a natural!
Really looking forward to tonight... Mainly because i want to confirm my suspiscion that Thewy talking about poker sounds exactly like Stephen Hendry commentating on the snooker. We shall see!

2 and a half hours...
I have no doubt tonight will be classic TV!
My questions are:-
As there are no shows next week, will Richard be trying out his recently refined game at the SPT next week?
If not why not?
What part of the studio will the two of you be taking away at the end of the show for posterity? and how do you intend to get it past security?
Thanks for all the great moments you've given from the old studio! Your new location has a lot to live up to!
Good luck

I play watching telly, occationally also donking off bets on Sky Vegas or the US racing
And occasionally falling asleep only to wake up with just 2 big blinds left and forced to move all in !
Your timing, Sparkling wit, bald as a coot!
You're a natural!
I play on my sofa with the lights off and, normally, channel 865 on in the background. Why, I don't know but it works for me.
Great news that the dress code has been relaxed for Luton. Mankinis for all the presenters?
Hope the new studio is not 3d ready. The thought of sitting in my living room and it looking like Tikay is sat next to me fills me with dread!
Enjoy the move and have fun
