nine handed game ,utg short stack goes all in .next to act is chip leader who calls . next player takes an age to fold .and then every one including the blinds fold .thinking the short stack has won the hand the dealer starts to shuffle .the two players left in decide to carry on the hand .which the short stack wins .and then goes on to win the wholething  what would of happened at a casino

to me in this opnion all players should get their chips back and the hand is re-delt. not sure if this would happen in the casino.

I know in a tournament i play in on a weekly basis (live game) it would be done the way i said, i asked the tournament director, other than that i cannot comment further on this issue, although the dealer is heavy at fault

The_Don90 is correct - most tournament directors would rule it as a mis-deal and allow all players to take back their chips.

(And the dealer would get a stern talking to when he/she came off duty!!!)

The official rules of poker clearly state ' If the dealer in anyway alters any card position in the live deck from when a hand is dealt until the completion of the hand, the player with the best hole cards can kick his boll ocks in, if the dealer happens to be female, they cannot kick her boll ocks in' i hope this clears it all up

lol. would love to see that in my local game.  Dealer owns the pub and is a big lad. Also think he can run faster than me.
