Sky Poker players @ the GPS Star City Main Event

Hi - quite a few Sky regulars are gonna be playing the first ever GPS Main Event at Star City in Birmingham

Just wondering if anyone else is, and what days they are playing?

I know that me, ChirpyChip, Browndog, Hurst05, Pryce6 and Runitsrann are gonna be playing 1b on the Friday.

Think that Thew is gonna be playing the 1a on the Thursday.

TK is in 2 minds tho which is annoying!

Who else is in?  For those who don't know its a £430 event with 25k chips and an hour clock so lots of play.

    I cant make this one, but i will try to play the one in London at the end of March, preferably satting in!

    Sorry, Ryan, much as I adore hooking up with you guys for the craic, I'll be playing the DTD £500, as they run their Tourneys & the Club so beautifully. The way a Tourney is run & managed, as well as the variety & availability of the cash games, in my opinion, a very important part of the customer experience.

    I do hope, though, that one of you guys gets the lot.

    is there late registration?
    hw far is star city from Novotel on Broad Street?

    i am so close to being able to play its unreal.  I am on a course on Friday but will try and disappear when lunch starts at 1 and hopefully could be there soon after

    would need some run good

    from genting web site "Main Event is Re-entry, and accepts buy ins until the end of level 9. Players are limited to 1 x Re-entry, but can use it on the same day"

    star city is about 3 miles outsde city center
    for info closest hotel is Hampton Hilton (across road from star city ) used to be puple hotel

    i have got a sat seat cant make my mind up if playing Birmingham or not
    will decide thursday

    hummmme - yeah I assume late reg is available but if you are SURE you are gonna make it then you can buy in online

    thew - we should be getting there Thursday for the 6 max side event so try and still be in!

    If I'm feeling well enough I may come rail for a little bit as I don't live far from Star City. Think Macapaca might be playing it. Best of luck to all Sky Poker Players taking part. I'd advise staying in the city centre though as the area around Star City isn't the nicest.lol.

    Harsh, but true.

    As I said when we discussed it, (& I don't want it made public), & in my earlier Post, it's a no-brainer for me.

    Also Star city is miles away from broadstreet. It is an out of city complex.

    As to Star City location, yes, unless you have a car, it is a mare to get to. It sits, pretty much, right alongside the elevated section of the M6, what is called, I believe, "Bescot Viaduct". I have never heard it described as an "out of city complex", "warehouse" is the more frequently used expression.

    I don't wish you ill @ Star City, but it'd be good to see you & hook up at DTD if you end up there. I'll be there on Saturday.

    Star city is a 5 min drive from the novotel on broad street mate
