Worst thing you could say to someone aftering busting out...
"Poker is a never ending game"
How I started in cash...
Just started out at the lowest possible levels $0.02/0.04 (on another site) and 2p/4p here, wasn't practicing great bankroll management at first but that's because due to lack of confidence in my game I didn't wanna deposit more than £20. Managed to get that up to about £250 at the micro stakes. A good rule people tend to stick to is that providing you're playing goodl solid ABC poker, you should have about £80 to play 2p/4p, then when you get to £160 move to 4p/8p, then when you get to £200 you can got to 10NL. You still get the same terrible players at 10NL just less of them, so as long as you stick to playing your premiums and going to value town, you should be ok with 20 buy-ins.
Question for Luke
I might be wrong, but you like to play alot of HUs, right? I've been playing alot recently and have a question. I've been playing HU SnGs where you start with 1000 chips, 3 min blinds starting at 10/20, next level is 15/30, so you're starting with 50BB and 3 minutes later you're down to 30BBs. I dont think I 3bet enough pre, but do you think I should really be avoiding 3bet folding?
"Loser, go Home"
"Every Bust Out Starts with a Loose Call"
"What did you expect playing a rag ace"
"Just a Cooler"
How I started in cash...
I bought in for £50 on a site that no longer exists. I had to sit on a table for so many hands at 5cents/10 cents to get a £50 bonus. I only played AA, KK, QQ & AK until I qualified for my bonus. I still had £40 left so I was up to £90. I played two tables at a time at that level until I reached £800 after about 6 months. I then moved up to 10cents/20cents and started playing four tables at a time. I got to £1600 in 3 months & kept moving up. Within two years, I was able to withdraw £500 per month and still see my balance increasing. I find that I can win comfortably on most sites at 25c/50c however on SKY, I can only win comfortably up to 15p/30p but find that I struggle above this level. I love playing on SKY but don't win much but I use it to improve my game by playing better players and using my cash winnings to take shots at bigger tournaments.
One thing I would say is at the lowest levels, you get so many loose calls that the best policy is to play big pairs very strongly but premium non-pairs like AK less strongly because you will get four callers to a 4x raise and are invariably outdrawn. Continuation bets when you miss are a waste of time because anyone that has hit a pair will call. However, if you cannot beat this level then you will not be able to beat higher levels.
Question for Luke
How much are you in control when you get "wordy" at the table? You give the impression of being out of control but I suspect that you might be cleverly trying to gain an edge. Your comments to David Benyamine in the Premier League clearly tilted him. How much do you use banter against opponents and how much do you think you gain from it?
In Response to Sunday NIght Live Show with Anna Fowler, Carlo Citrone and special guest Luke Schwartz ****official show thread****:
.What is the worst thing you can say to a poker player who has just bust out!?
"Don't worry about it! Orford is a much better player than he's given credit for! and him shoving with deuce five off suit, against your aces was quite understandable!"
anna... is this live or a pre-record?
