It would be very possible to start with a tenner and grind it up purely playing low stakes DYMs, If you know how to play them well, IMO it would be easy but take a LONG time
. . . I started playing on Skypoker on 17 Jan with the £10 intro bonus thingy and deposited £20 of my own. I'm currently sitting on a bankroll of £165. Posted by streetdog
Congratultions! As PokerFail has said, it is possible but will take a long time. If you can afford to play the £3.30 DYMs there's a much greater chance of being in the black than playing the £0.30s. I think if you analyse your results/records (take out the tourney win and cash tables activity and isolate the DYM results) the answer to your question will be in there.
I see what you mean about taking the tourny cash out but re the cash games I haven't played many and those that I have I reckon I'm prob about even on. I reckon I'm prob up say £100 in a month, so I would say that obviously you'd have to play a **** of a lot of tables to do it quickly but I'm enjoying playing and slowly building the BR. Sharkscope says 139 games, my initial stake was £30 and my BR now is £165 so I'm up £135 minus my tourney £38. So i'm up £97. Thats ok for a month I reckon, playing for fun/to gain experience. I'm liking the "smallness" of skypoker tbh. I played on Fulltilt till it shut then Pokerstars and I much prefer actually recognising the names of the people I'm playing against more regularly. I miss the 18 and 27 person SnG games on the other sites tho, I don't seem to be able to find those games on here. The single table SnG paying 1st and 2nd aren't too appealing. The upside is I guess that it'll make me play more cash which is what I want to do anyway. I should add that I'm aware I've been running really good and in another months time I could easily be back at £30 but well time will tell...
