Thanks guys, nice to see some more readers and posters!
I think some of it was probably luck at the start .Getting to 60 was pretty easy seemed every table I joined was a donk fest and happy to call weak for my full stacks (£1.60 at the time). Then I did really well in the small field and buy in tournaments and probably caught the better side of variance.
I feel so far I am doing really well with the DYM's and pretty much crushing them. Hopefully it's not just a good variance swing, I did donk a fair amount today, seems mostly against rancid so sorry for that if you read rancid! But to be fair it happens both ways so I am hoping this isn't just a big upswing the last few days!
Had a good session on my dinner break and a great session tonight. Mainly playing the 5.50's. Here are the results:
Dinner session:
5.50 : 6w, 4l
3.30 : 2w, 2l
total : 8w, 6l
57% win rate
Night session:
5.50 : 26w, 12l
3.30 : 1w, 1l
total : 27w, 11l
71% win rate
Current Standings:
£492 BR
3170 Points
3022 Cash Points
1249 STT Points (since I am playing so many lately)
I'd also like to ask anyone who has played DYM's a lot advice on moving up. To this point it's not been much of a concern as I have had plenty of buy ins for the levels. The next level would see me less than 50BI and I imagine a 10 game swing would a killer especially if you had to move back down to recover it. Also what is the worst swing people have had here if they play many?
I'm currently using a 40BI strategy for the £5.50 level (and move down if I drop below 30, so gives me 10BI's to play with) but am aiming for 50BI's to start feeling safe.
To move to next level I'd want 40BI's again and give myself 10BI's again till I have to move down.
Of course you can use an idea JC has in his blog of 22BI's then take two shots, if you win keep playing if you lose move down, this sounds simple but due to variance it's quite hard to make this work, well at least I found it hard lol
EDIT : On the downswing at £3.30 recently had ~15BI one over 2 days, just lots of beats, coolers, flips etc, but regulary get 4BI down days when it's just not going your way, which will happen trust me, so you need enough ammo for when that happens.
That sounds like a good idea, atm I have been trying 5x 5.50 tables and 1x 11 table at a time so if I don't do well I have the losses covered. Doing ok so far but to early to say if I can beat them consistently.
Had another good session. Started off badly wasn't quite playing right being to wide in spots and to tight in others. Ended the same way to but overall it's been good.
Forgot to post my DYM's last night and I no longer have the results d'oh! It was a good session though and winning at 5.50 and 11.
Also played some cash for a change, but this time I really tightened up like I mean to and it paid off. Playing 3 tables NL4 and 3 tables 8-10NL and ended the session up £20 ish. Think I might have some more stabs at cash today as I need to improve.
super sick sessions today. Not sure if it's because it's a saturday and the donks are out or I'm just running hot. Some small wins at 10nl 4nl and massive wins at 11 and 5.50 DYMs. Feeling very comfortable playing 11 now just not as much tables there unfortunately.
Closing on the top 150 sng players. Hope I make it to the league stars freeroll!
well done mate, how fantastically well you are doing :-) i have been playing £3.30 dym,s myself, but as i have just withdrawn £400 from poker account to buy a new pc(arrives mid week...can,t wait), i have dropped back to playing £2.25 & £1.15,s again. hopefully when pc arrives will be able to step-up number of tables (planning on playing 9 to start then just keep increasing.
i have to ask you this; when you jump up a level, say u r playing £5.50,s and u then load up aN £11 do you not think about losing, as it,s a £20 swing in effect, especially if you are flipping, which as u know, you quite often are. so just the flop of 1 card could be the diference of £20. or, are you just thinking about what you stand to gain?
Thanks guys! Jealus of the new PC, I need an external screen for my laptop badly as 6-9 tabling already overlaps on the screen!
When I go up a level I am naturally nervous but I don't worry to much as the steady profits from the the lower level covers the buy ins for the next level if I am lower than a 55% win rate.
I try not to worry about putting my money on a flip as I am rarely calling an all in preflop and pushing mid stacks that can fold 95% of hands if possible. Your almost always negative equity wise calling all in for a flip for your full stack, sometimes even with AA!
Not a great day for DYM's today but a positive overall ITM. Also played 2 2.40 and one 4.80 satellite for the 3k BH's. Couldn't pick up many hands and lost my preflop all ins at the later stages.
I did manage to win a 9.60 satellite to the 5k BH though! Was running good and had more than doubled my stack and then some unfortunate hands when I kept losing on rivers etc. Lost with AA when a guy hit the full house on the river with 99 =(. Last hand was pretty unlucky as I was 58% favourouite to win, 38% lose. Had jT Hearts and board was 89hjc. We went all in, he had j9, turn made the flush and river made him the full house. Gutted!
DYM's:
5.50 11w 8l 58% win
11 7w 5l 58% win
Current standings:
£800
4731 Points (Almost 5k!!)
3365 Cash Points
2284 STT Points (top 150 I think? Does that mean I get to do league stars freeroll?)
Very nice graph! I hope mine has no major swings after 1.7k.
I don't know why there are so many people saying DYM's are boring soulless etc. I quite enjoy grinding them and it being easier to multi table!
A question I have that is probably been posed before somewhere on the forum. What does everyone think of the rake sky has on DYM's? Even at the top level they have the rake at 10% while on other sites it tends to be 2-5% as they tend to have lower average ROI's than sng's. Also the blinds are over twice as fast as a regular and it always ends early as it stops when they are down to 3 people so the volume is higher. It seem's the rake is very high and it must be tempting for a lot of grinders to play elsewhere with better rake.

Thanks, I think the rake on SnGs and MTTs on Sky is rediculous, especially the super extorionate rake on the low stakes games, they have a great welcome bonus that attracts many many new players yet the rake will do nothing but scare them away.
This is part of the reason I stopped playing DYMs, just think if you are grinding the £11 games the rake is £1 yet on other sites this would only be 50 - 80p meaning win or lose EVERY game you play you arre being robbed of 20 - 50p which obviously adds up quickly.
The absolute worst thing is the rake on the Bounty hunters, it is a higher rate "because they aere more popular" which is just plain rediculous.
However this is my favourite site as I have found my niches and like playing in £s.
Yeah I also think the rake is way to high for the reasons in my last post. Reckon a poll would get any actual notice from sky??
The rake is also really high on the BH's but I don't mind it as much because people can maintain high ROI's and they are long games.
Last few days results:
This one is pretty cr@ppy, I jumped straight into 9 tabling 5.50-11 after work while tired and could not keep up!
5.50 w6 l6 50% win
11 w5 l6 45% win
I then dropped it down to 6 and managed a nice 4w 1l at 5.50. Overall a loss on the DYM's and a couple of sats but I picked up 3rd on take on tikay which made it up for the day.
Next day I focused on 5.50 to wind down from the bad day before. not a great session but did ok. Played some more sats to which brought it down to a very minor win:
5.50 w13 l8 62% win
Today went really well but again I donked more money playing sats, I need to stop playing them so often and half heartedly as they are sucking up my DYM moneys!! If I want to play a tourny JUST PLAY ONE YOU CAN AFFORD and stop trying to sat to mains!!!! (WSOP Vegas excluded of course xD):
5.50 w14 l3 82% win
11 w4 l2 66% win
I have also managed to beat my monthly targets, yay! Smashed the BR target of £300 with end of the having £800. Just about made over 5k points (can't wait for the £96). I didn't manage the top 150 cash league but I made the STT one so I am counting that as complete .
Up and down last few days playing a lot of tourneys and DYM's to cover them. Running good with the DYM's but was break even including the tournies and vegas sats. Over £30 on vegas sats so far making the qtr twice and losing!
Managed a good day today with some good tourny cashes finally, the biggest was a £500 bounty fr £100+£61 bounties bumping up my winnings. Played some cash to and was up £20.

1.7k games and no big downswing, even though I played several games from £22 - £55
BTW you have an amazing record so far! keep that up and you'll be a millionnaire in no time
