Shared pot on bounty Hunter

Hi all,

Could anyone clarify for me how bounties are distributed on a split pot.

The example is player 1 has 4000 chips, I have 2000 chips and the player busted has 1000 chips. Both myself and player 1 shared the pot with a straight to the Ace chips were evenly distributed but he got the bounty should this not also be shared as we both had him covered?
