has the standards really improved on sky poker ?
from what i have seen over the last few days, players have not got better, but.. there seem to be alot of new players playing out of their depth and winning .
it is either that or they are rubbish. don't know the value of a hand pre. can not see what the board is showing them or the possibilities of what hand you might have..
now, yes people have improved their games and learnt what is a good hand and bad and can see more than that 2-10 suited in their hand..
be honest and reply to the main question..
has the standard of play got better on sky poker ?

There may be just as many bad players as there used to be but that's cos there are constantly new players coming to the site and everyone starts somewhere. I know personally my game has massively improved in the last 18 months if only to the point where I know I have a hobby for life because I will never need to deposit again.
Players that have been playing badly for years can win large MTT's :S
Nature of the beast
I think overall the standard is still the same, apart from a small minority who have improved and so obviosuly now reep the rewards
Nature of poker that the majority will be "bad" players
Not sure if it's a "reason" for the increase bad play/players or not, BUT I noticed over the last 2/3 weeks the New Player Freerolls on a Tuesday night have about 1000-1200 runners! It could be that there are just more new players on the site and with the increase in games played the % of people hitting runner/runner increases?
BTW the thread is about the standard of players and your post isn't.
Too good, Sir, too good.
if 62% are saying yes....
well then it has.
i think in every game or sport even, the bar is always being raised by the best
players, and it,s then up to the "mear mortals"to try and follow.
poker is no diferent, you get out what you put in!
if you can learn from your mistakes,
are prepared to put in a little or better still alot of time and effort
almost anyone will improve.
how much....that,s down to you.

@ missbanker.. we are not saying anything about the boards that come. just the standard of play..
even i have learnt to take my loses and wins as they come..
sky is a good site for the games and community
Goldie you have got to be posting this as sarcasm,it made me laugh anyway.Although we have strayed off topic here if you play enough live poker you will see all of the above happening.
We want bad players dont we?
In the forum DTD 3x tournaments total of £5.50 you see all sides of the game but id say 75% of it is good play.
LETS EAT THOSE FISH!
Like many others ive got my own little BR Challenge going on on both sites and I find it much easier to build my BR on Stars.
I put it down to the community on here. It takes experience to become a top player but with the TV Channel and Forums a novice who is keen to learn can soon rack up the knowledge to mix it up.
Now there are many more good players around, and a lot of guys who have the game to beat an ABC player.
But there are always new players coming to the site and so we have a wide range of ability.
