1) how many buy ins would you recommend before moving up to 3r/8$ 180s 2) what would you say is a decent roi in the 2s/3rs/8s 3) what hands are you shoving with 20/15/10bbs? 4)when you are in the $ in a 180 with say an average stack are you more or less pushing ATC from LP-SB in all spots that are unopened to you due to how top heavy these mttsngs are ?
probably have more questions but that will do for now
As James is a turbo sng specialist, has he ever dabbled in Hyperturbo HU sngs?
How did he find them & why doesn't he play them more often?
What's a realistic long term ROI at the low/mid stakes hyper hu sngs?
---------------------------------
Of all the different formats & variations of poker, why did James chose to learn & master sit & gos, & specifically turbo sngs?
Because he was good @ them? enjoyed them? or maybe because they were the softest games available at the time?
----------------------------------
Any advice on 'taking shots' at higher sit & gos? Has he every had a disaster when taking shots? What happened, how did it effect him, & what has he learnt from the experience?
-----------------------------------
Could ask tonnes of strategy questions but they'd be hard to ask between hands
Hope you can get through a couple of the above tonight. thnx.
#482073134 - Hand from the All Rounders league - Any chance you could have a look at this? It did have the TV Icon so I assume I can send this in. Is it better to 3 bet this early on in the tournament, knowing if I get 4 bet, I'll have to fold, or just call and see a flop despite being out of position against the pre-flop raiser?
#482074485 - Me going into "Represent when I should probably just give up, and look like a total donk in the process" mode.
Hi all - fascinating show as ever. Can you have a look at this hand please.
Im guessing I should have shoved pre to avoid the decision making but the number of times I have done that to BB with a decent hand and come unstuck is unreal (the decision to shove is based on 10bb or is that too loose here)?
The thought process behind folding was that he could have called with A10/K10/Q10 etc hence the 10 on the flop putting me off.
Some general advice on not getting blinded out in the second session would be useful please as I often start off well and then slow down rapidly in the 2nd session.

Quick question for James 'proclaimer' Atkins if its not too late..
When you are running/playing bad do you have any superstitions or rituals you perform?
For example, if I'm running bad playing using the sky poker browser I often change to the download.. for some reason doing this seems to refocus my mind!!
about 6 or 7 years ago i luckboxed my way to a final table in my local casino. the 3 other players were trying to do a deal for a long time and in the end were getting quite aggresive with me and suggesting they wouldnt play on without a deal. Anyway at this point a player tapped my back and suggested i was being ripped off and in the end i got nearly £200 more for a deal, this player turned out to be micky wurnick.
It has made me wonder how often inexperienced/quieter players get short changed in deals , having said that its hard to take a moral high ground in poker as in general winnings come from weaker players who may be losing money that really matters e.t.c

As I play mainly STT's, I'm looking forward to seeing James Atkin on the show and hope to pick up a few tips.

Grassy Knoll moment... the team positions in the Play The Nation league are decided by the number of vowels in the Region's name.

I just wanna see what he had
If you start as an MTT player there is nothing wrong with depositing £50 for a weeks poker and playing £5 or £10 tournies.
But maybe do not play just the big fields. One win in a 30/40 runner field and you have the start of a bankroll to manage.
