SPT Manchester 2009-10: Leg 1 Manchester. Live Update and Competition

Well it's nearly here. Leg 1 of the 2009-10 SPT from the G Casino Manchester.

149 of Sky Poker's finest, and Richard Orford, battling for the £4,000 first prize and bragging rights, at least until Leg 2.

From 2pm Saturday I will, technology permitting, be bringing you a Live Update from the event with news, chip counts, a few poker hands, photographs (though when you find out who my photographer is, you'll wonder how) a lot of fun hopefully.

This will work best if people interact on here, ask after their friends and cheer them on if they are doing well.

Also, if you are playing, feel free to post how you are doing via your mobile devices.

    To accompany this live update we have a small competition for you, as follows:

    All you have to do is Name the Winner. Simples.

    The names of the 129 online qualifiers are listed in the Poker lobby and the other people playing (where I know names) are as follows:

    Choose a name from either list, post it on this thread and the person whose pick finishes highest scoops an entry into a Sunday night Primo competition courtesy of the Sky Poker Tour.

    In the event of more than one person choosing the same name we need a tiebreak question, as follows:

    - What time will the final hand of Leg 1 be dealt?

    Closest to the correct answer wins the tie-break.

    I am so looking forward to the updates, and the iffy photo,s ;), I have got a few mates there, Greg and Col to name but 2 of the many for now, it of course goes without saying, enjoy.

    I will say Flashflush and 1.57

    Allthough, I got that many friends, all fo em lolol

    In a blatant display of online onanism, I'm going to vote for myself. 

    I've read Gus Hansen's book (twice), and I plan to watch Rounders on my laptop on the journey up, so by the time I get there, I really ought to be on fire. Be warned, I'm even bringing a rack of biscuits to break beside my ear at pivotal moments of play.

    The last hand will be dealt at 1.15am, whereupon I shall doubtless be carried aloft on the shoulders of a jubilant partisan crowd through the streets of Machestercestershire.

    ...Or I might bust out in the first few minutes so that I can loaf around the bar. I haven't decided yet.

    I have been on a deadful run since I paid the entry fee for Nottingham from my considerable winnings that month.
