Chat Ban

Dont chat ban me for asking Sky but why do you chat ban members for speaking their mind on here?
Its not going to do any damage because its only the members that read it anyway and if they read it it means they are still here.
I personally think its because the truth hurts.
Anyway just thought i would ask.
Im asking sky staff though not the little run arounds who seem to answer all questions on here when people complain (yous know who yous are,and if yous dont just go to area 51 and im sure ya memory will be jogged).
Could mention names instantly myself but probably get banned for that too.
I just think its so childish chat banning people especially when we supposedly have freedom of speech,and as for life bans what a joke.Do people not get 2nd chances no more.Im glad sky dont rule the country coz gallows and hanging would come back.

Right rant over just think sky should look at themselves and grow up.Yous will lose more members if you chat ban them i reckon than you would just by them complaining.

    i have to disgree with you on that some of the things i have seen printed in the chat box is a total disgrace im all for free speech and that but when someone wrote in the chatbox hope you get cancer and die would you call that free speech? that is people who we are better not having on the site...

    firstly there is a difference between a chat ban and a forum ban and I think you may be confusing the two, 

    secondly there are forum guidelines posted at the top of each forum section and they are the rules we are all guided by. if you can't find them, I've done some running around so you don't have to so CLICK HERE and you'll be taken straight to them.

    Anything that ends up in the chat box should be what you would say if you were sat at the table in the same room as the people you chose to insult, swear at or wish them dead or dying - there are some vile people on site who we don't mind playing but do not want to be on the end of their disgustingly vile comments.

    There's not much to add to this, the answers above tell you the story.

    One thing to say though - we certainly do not do it for 'childish' reasons or to stop 'freedom of speech'. All of our policies about these are both (a) clear and (b) designed for the benefit of the community overall.
