It really depends on what other programs you have running in the background such as Anti Virus & Internet Security etc. But in all honesty the one big problem I can see is your PC memory (2GB Memory)

4GB Memory would be much smoother and is probably the least I would want from my PC, because your windows operating system and other programs could be using at least 2GB which means most of your other programs will be sharing your cache memory.

Answer to question: 4 tables on mini view is the best you can expect.

Personally I'd say the CPU is the limiting factor here.

Yes that certainly is a major factor too.

I am running a dual Core with 4GB Mem and I can open more tables than I care to shake a stick at :)

Yeah no point increasing RAM with that CPU.

Also which version of Windows do you run ?

With that setup you should be able to run 6-8 with little problems unless you are running a lot in the background. 6-8 shouldnt take over 1gb memory and a 2.1ghz should be fine for it.

If your using the system purely for poker, try a fresh install of a minimal windows XP. With that it won't take more than 256mb of RAM to run background processes and very minimal CPU so you should have plenty of resources left to be opening 6-8 tables.
