Vegas satellites - issue not answered

Yes, I had a moan a couple of days ago about the minimum shot at the vegas prize. It was £52.50 which I thought was a bit steep.

Log on tonight, and once again the minimum shot is £52.50! Apparently there was an earlier satellite for a tenth of this, but I missed it.

Sky team, please get a grip! Run £5.50 satellites every hour and you'll make a fortune in rake, and you'll also get whingers like me off your back.

Oh and also make the final a 200 buy-in with 1 in 50 paid. Much more fun.

BB.

I agree with your £5.50 satellites running later
but strongly disagree with your £200 final tariff. IMO it devalues the efforts players have made to qualify.
    Good Luck

Good morning Mr Bluster, & I'm sorry if I missed your earlier "moan". Not like me to miss someone moaning, eh? .....;)

We will also do our best to "get a grip", (is that a sort of mini-version of "SORT IT OUT SKY?) but at least we do not lack advice from our players.

I'm a bit confused as to what you are saying/asking.

There are Daily Satellites to VLV from as little as £2.50. Any cheaper, & they'd be free......

The VLV Satellite Structure has been addressed & constructed with some degree of care, as it needs to fulfil a number of criteria. We believe it is doing that.

    The Satellite Structure is HERE

    Any further questions, fire awayyyyyyyyyyyy

I think his point is, and fwiw i agree if i'm correct from what i know, is that all of the £5/£2 super sats run through the daytime and then in the evening it's the £50 sat. So obv for people that work / like to play snooker all day the cheapest option available is the £50 sat. (although i'm guessing the sat structure is the same / very similar at the weekends?)

I don't see why that there cannot be £5 super sats that run on say a thursday nite, that award seats in to the friday £50 sat, surely this is possible and would stand a chance of boosting the vegas final prizepool and therefore might even add an extra seat or two on to the numbers that travel this summer.

Ofc my info is probably completely wrong but I imagine you'll correct me pretty quick! ;-)

No, I would not correct you, & yes, the £5 affairs run at weekends, I believe.

I have already sent the thread upstairs for their perusal & consideration, following Mr Blusters blust.

I am purely guessing here, but I suspect their answer will be that whatever way they cut it, it is hard to please everyone.

    Anyway, we shall see.

Either way, it is good to see so much interest in this years VLV.

It is absolutely my favourite promotion every year, bar none, so I'll be keeping a close eye on qualifiers & feedback come what may.

I have had the good fortune to go to Vegas with Sky Poker every year so far, & I can assure everyone, it is the poker trip of a lifettime for us "regular guys", it is top notch, & unforgettable. I have no idea if I will get the gig this year or not, & cannot complain if I don't, but I think everybody should give this a shot, it's the greastest thing in greatville.

VLV Without Tikay just wouldn't be the same, I think Tikay & Rich Orford would make a Great Team in Vegas, will be having a go at a few micro Sats (never no) & I wish everyone who wins a Package the very Best of Luck

I have to agree with DTW and Aussie09

I remember the Blogs that TK wrote and posted on a DAILY basis,  the effort that he put into the event was amazing.  It was as close as you could get to being there..  without obviously;o)

Whoa, hold up guys. I really appreciate the comments, but that is not what the thread is about.

The task in hand is to get as many regular guys on that Vegas-bound 747 as possible, that's all that matters right now.

    Vegas babyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Not usually one to be at the front of the queue, I had read Blusters first comments and from my own observations, when I drift around the lobby, I had thought 'give them a few days Bluster, they haven't got all the satellites up and running yet'.

A few days later and still no obvious satellites that match my bankroll and interest, (you see I was waiting for those £13ish and £26ish satellites).

Now I've read this post, clicked on Tikay's linky thing and taken the time to read this years qualification structure and I see its only gone and changed!

The revised structure actually looks quite good I like the 1 in 5 odds and would imagine Sky have got it bang on this year (not that it was particularly wrong in previous years) and will see more players making the monthly finals, which must be good for everyone.

To relate to Blusters moans, I am hoping there are as many quality (not frenzies) satellites as possible into the £52.50 quarter finals or even the odd 'super satelite' direct to a VLV Semi.

Hi Tikay, i started a similar thread a week or so ago but my point was, and still is, that the latest micro sat running at the moment kicks off at 17.25 which is no good to people who are working.
I asked if it would be possible to run some micro sats after 19.00 which would feed into the following days QF sat, as i am sure that these would attract big numbers but Sky Lee replied suggesting that this would be unlikely as it would require a complete rescheduling of the satellite structure.                                                                                             I do not understand this statement, but obv i am not privy to the workings and mechanics of running a satellite structure but do feel that it would not be impossible to at least trial this suggestion as i really do feel that they would attract decent sized fields.
This in turn would lead to increased numbers in QF sats, then increased numbers in QF etcetceraaa etcetceraaa, eventually, hopefully, resulting in more bodies for you to babysit in Vegas.

    Thank you Pommy.

As I said much earlier in the thread....

    1) The Satellite striucture is constructed with considerable care & forethought.

    2) I have sent the thread upstairs for their perusal & consideration.

If they respond to me, I will let you know.

I sort of wish I had not responded to Mr Bluster now, the thread is growing ever larger!

    Just to help Tikay here.

The current satellites structure is effectlvely the 'core' of out plans for Viva Las Vegas sats and is likely to stay broadly the same until the end of qualification.

However, we will be making 'tactical' additions to this structure to run along side this at certain times. More will be revealed soon but it's fair to say that some of you are not to far from the mark with a few ideas.

    Great minds think alike!

    Thanks

    You asked for Frenzies.

    You asked for cheaper satellites.

You asked for these to run in the evening.

And did those Suits up in Leeds listen?
