Yup, the WSOP has arrived back in Vegas for another summer full of poker goodness. The first event of the series (if you exclude the Casino Employee's Tournament which has finished) is a biggie - the $40k No Limit Hold 'Em event.
Needless to say that due to the massive buy-in you can expect to see many of the big-name poker pro's splashing about in this event. 201 players ponied up the $40k, of which only 89 lasted through to the end of Day 1.
Bruno Fitoussi - runner-up to Freddy Deeb in the 2007 $50k buy-in H.O.R.S.E event - tops the chipstacks at the end of the day with 812,500, with the 2003 Main Event winner Chris Moneymaker hot on his heels with 805,000 (all players started with 120k in chips with the blinds at 200/400/50). Other notables in the top 10 include Justin Bonomo, Brian Townsend, runner-up in the 2008 H.O.R.S.E Tourney Micheal DeMichele and Irishman Andy Black. British players Neil Channing (296,500) and Dave "Devilfish" Ulliot (Apparently has 1 chip - I think they haven't been able to total his chips for whatever reason) are also going strong and will start the action at 2PM PDT (10PM our time).
