Computer help needed!

Can anyone help me with a computer problem?

 All my Desktop Icons have turned into a windows Icon (a flower) and when I press, say Sky Poker it tries to open it with Windows Live Gallery! So then I have to go to file location and open it that way.

 I obviously have pressed something somewhere, now I need someone to tell me how to get my short cuts back! Thank you in advance!

 Ok I will try to sort it out! Either that. Or wait for my daughter to turn up next weekend if I cant!

right click desktop

goto properties

cutomize desktop( at bottom)

click restore default.

or right click desktop

 then personalize

then new menu opens

top left Change desktop icons

  check all 

restore default

depends what version of windows u have
