Great venue and superbly staffed. Think I speak for everyone when I say a BIG thanks to you all and I hope you become a regular choice on the SPT (especially as you're only round the corner from me!!)
Very very well done Dave, made up for you! Was laughing at your comment re your wife's quote for the flooring, I had already told Bromley04 that I wanted a new kitchen if he won lol! We are already trying to rearrange some stuff in Jan to try and get to the Newcastle leg if we can qualify! Top day, we are still buzzing! Mrs B ** AKA Mrs Bromley04 ** Posted by Bromley023
Well I guess we can see who wears the trousers in our homes!! Great to meet both of you.
I'd like to add my congrats yet again! You proved that you can win with a small stack and I think you are a worthy winner, and that's without taking anything away from any other players, final table or otherwise. I had the pleasure of playing on the same tables as you for the last 2 or 3 hours and you played with great dignity, even when my JJ beat yiour AK to keep me in! You were a true "gent". Personally I was disappointed with my final table play, I missed about the only opportunity I had, but heyho! that doesn't matter, I exceeded my expectations. The real bonus was meeting up with a group of people I think of as "friends", some old and some new, such as you. The day was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end and for that we must thank the Sky team, the Casino and their staff, the players and the spectators. The camaraderie was there for everybody to witness and enjoy. I'm sure, like me, there will be many players itching to sit down at the qualifiers for the next one in Newcastle. I think Sky have a unique product with their "Tour", probably the envy of their competitors. It is perhaps a little unfair to pick on any individual when we say our thank yous, but I just have to mention Tikay. He is an incredably enthusiastic guy who, as far as I can witness, is held in very high esteem by everybody, they threw the mould away after he was made. See you on the tables.
Gordon Parton (Dollie)
PS I am sorry that I was a disappointement to 1 person, who expected me to be female, single and under 30! What a shock that must have been!

Totally agree with Delta that you were a true gentlemen and you certainly brought a lot of class to the final table and it was a pleasure to play against you Sir!!!

It was a genuine pleasure to meet and play with you Gordon and if you are related can you let me know if you're going to bring Dolly to any future events!!!
Unfortunately I couldn't stay to watch the final table and had to travel back across the pennines in the fog, but it was a great read on the live updates to see you come back from such a short stack.
Congratulations to everyone who made the cash and the final table and will hopefully see you on the tournament tables, including Primo on Sunday.
A great & most gracious Post by David, our Tourney Winner on Saturday.
Here's a snippet for you.
Early in the Final he was in the SB, & had 7,000 chips.
The Blinds at the time were, I think, 4,000-8,000.
Now THATS a comeback.
Later, Heads-Up, he had a 2.5:1 chip defecit to Dantb10, a very good player indeed, a player who is good enough to be a Pro, & who has experience of playing a huge Tourney in Vegas.
You, David, have every right to be proud. Patience, "waiting for the right spot", is vitally important. You sure did that, & on top of that, showing backbone, character & mettle, when everything is going wrong - as it was, early - is the sign of a proper player, in my book.
You are a credit to Sky Poker, & a worthy Champion.

Carl - I've helped run or be involved in a lot of Events at Grosvenor/G Venues over the last 5 years. None of them, from the Venues perspective, have been run as well as Saturday was. You got it spot-on.

Hi Tony, This is the first time, that i can remember, that the host casino has posted like this. It IS a great sentiment and must be very pleasing to Sky Poker, that WE have THE BEST bunch of people playing and working at the site. We should collectively should be proud of that post and i hope that it will be repeated by the rest of the venues. WELL DONE EVERYONE. col

It's a new one in my experience Col, & it hit me between the eyes for that very reason. And it shows why they got Saturday right - it's called "attention to detail".
Good to see you on Saturday Col - & a million thanks for the two framed photographs, they were magnificent.
Congratulations to David36 (and to Dan for finishing runner up).
Coincidentally, both started out on the same table (table 1) and right from the off both carefully accumulated chips. When this table was broken uo Dave and I both moved to table 9, where I watched him go from strength to strength.
I really enjoyed the day which was exceptionally well organised and run by the Sky staff, so many thanks. One observation I have was the high standard of play. I have played in many other live events but this was by far the best standard of play I have encountered. It was great to chat to Richard Orford and Tikay, both approachable down to earth guys.
I would like to say hello to MOOCH, Jeno2, Jupiter8, arlicker, LynneSenior, bridge03, Pears_27 and SkiCowboys, all of whom were a pleasure to meet. Also a word for Dennis Taylor, a true gent, particularly when his trip 7s were beaten by bridge03 who hit a flush knocking him out.
I hope the tour comes around to Manchester next year, I will certainly be trying to qualify again.
