Cheltenham Info - Day 4

FRIDAY 16TH MARCH

A tougher looking day today but hopefully we can get a return again.

We have lots of information again today at Cheltenham. Once again plenty that look to hold decent e/w chances at big prices. Citizenship and Toner D’Oudairies are both extremely well fancied by connections and all being well should give us another return and cap off a very good week. It is tempting to advise both e/w but it may pay to throw caution to the wind here and plump for win selections only at their current prices.

Today’s bets:

CITIZENSHIP (CHELTENHAM 2.05) - 2 POINT WIN – 7/1 AVAILABLE
TONER D’OUDAIRIES (CHELTENHAM 4.40) - 2 POINT WIN – 7/1 AVAILABLE

Today’s Information:

Cheltenham 1.30
Shadow Catcher
 – This has been his target all season and he has improved a bundle lately. He has been working like a very good horse and he should really be suited by the track. They are bound to go a fair clip and this should play into his hands as well, and hopefully he’ll be arriving on the scene late with a solid e/w chance.
Grumeti – He has really grown and strengthened this year and is getting better with every race. He has improved again since his last run and he looks sure to run his race today. He has a fair bit of experience from the flat and hopefully that might just give him the edge over some of these today.

Cheltenham 2.05
Raya Star
– He ran a really good race in the betfair hurdle last time and you have to say the weight rise is more than fair. The strong gallop will definitely help and he stays all day. It’s a very open race and any number of horses are open to plenty of improvement, but we feel he has improved a fair bit himself and we must come here with a good e/w chance.
Citizenship – He was very impressive last time out and showed a real touch of class the way he quickened and raced clear of the rest. Obviously this is much tougher today and there are plenty with real chances, but we have thought Citizenship could be a bit special for some time and he has improved massively in a short space of time. We’re very hopeful of a big run today and it would be disappointing if he weren’t able to go very close here.

Cheltenham 2.40
Boston Bob
 – He is unbeaten over hurdles and has done nothing but impress every time. The step up in trip will suit and he really couldn’t be in better order. He’s a short price but he definitely sets the standard and it will take a good one to beat him today.
Fox Appeal – He is a bit of a monkey and tends to pull a bit at times, but hopefully Noel can get him settled today and this is the sort of race that could really keep him interested. If he does take to it he certainly has the talent to get involved in a race like this and he’s definitely not without an e/w chance.

Cheltenham 4.00
Chapoturgeon
 – Obviously the step up in trip is a bit of an unknown but he is bred for it and we’re confident he has the stamina for this. He’s had an unlucky few years after a couple of niggling injuries but he seems back to his best now. He travels well and if Jack can get him settled and switched off there’s every chance he could have them all on the stretch turning in. As ever here it’s a competitive race but we’re really hopeful of a big run again today and it would be lovely to see him win after all his problems.

Cheltenham 4.40
Molotof
 – It has taken him a while to come to hand but he has really improved lately and is still on the upgrade. He will have to improve again but there’s every chance he will and he’d have a solid e/w chance with a little luck.
Toner Doudaries – This has been his target all season and he ran a decent enough race last time on poor ground and a trip he didn’t quite see out. He travels really well and he should be suited by the way the race will be run today. We think he is very well handicapped and he has a massive chance today.

Cheltenham 5.15
Kid Cassid
y – He is a really nice sort and couldn’t be in better order. We have been aiming him at this all season and he looks extremely well handicapped. He should get the pace he needs and he is a strong traveller. Everything looks set for a big run today and we’re confident he can go close.
