I accept that PLO8 is nowhere near as popular as Hold'em, and probably never will be. However, besides the £1.10 tournaments, Sky does very little to encourage new players to try PLO8 and learn the game.
Firstly, micro stakes PLO8 cash. Due to the split pot nature of this game, the fact that when you get all your money in, you're never a massive favourite unlike in hold'em , and the 7.5% rake that Sky charges at low and micro stakes, it becomes very difficult (even impossible?) for anyone to be profitable long term playing low/micro stakes PLO8 cash.
Secondly, PLO8 Sit & Go's. The lowest level in all types of PLO8 Sit & Go is £2.00, plus rake. For a player who hasn't played PLO8 before, £2.25 isn't terrible, but as there's 30p PLO DYM's... Why no lower levels for PLO8? I can understand being concerned about thinning what little liquidity there already is, but cheaper DYM's would mean more new players playing PLO8, too. A £1.15 level, at least, would be a welcome addition IMO. Maybe even an unraked 25p PLO8 DYM constantly available so people can give the game a try?
Finally, tournaments. The £1.10 tournaments are a good place for people to play PLO8 for the first time, however, as I've posted in a previous thread, I'd love to see a couple of these in the evening as well as during the day. Maybe a cheap PLO8 Freeroll too, like the PLO Freeroll that runs on weekends at 2pm.
BTW, any chance of sticking that £100 GTD PLO8 tourney @ 8:25pm to the top of the lobby in the evenings, and maybe a mention on "Tonight on Sky Poker" to give it a bit of a push? Noticed it's had a tiny bit of overlay recently.
