TV Highlights of the Forum DTD

Hi Sky,

It's been mentioned on here alot that people would love to see some of the DTD shown on channel 865 and I was thinking of a way to make it more interesting.

You get one of the Sky presenters/analysts like Scotty, Thewy, Carlo, get them to play the Forum DTD on a Monday, then show hightlights on the Tuesday show. This way you could follow the pro's play throughout the tourney and anyone will know if they're on say Scotty's table, they might be on TV, and maybe you could chuck something in like whoever knocks out the analyst gets free entry into next weeks DTD which is a cheap prize but alot would be happy with it. The prize is optional really though, I think people just wanna see the DTD on TV because it's so popular.

I know you can only show TV tables, but could not just mark the 3 DTD games as TV tables so people are aware hands might be shown

I do not like this idea. People might end up having to watch me play. Nobody wants to see that.

As I mentioned last night on the rail it's overdue. It's the most popular night for us smaller buy in players and it really is about time that Sky gave it some coverage. Lambert I don't think it really needs your idea of a "name" playing it and they would in effect be taking a drop in possible earnings for the night. The only problem I can see is that Sky would effectively have to cover 3 tournaments but I'm sure the brains could find a way round it. The last 2 weeks have gone to the wire and would have made great T.V.

Hitman wear the pink suit and even I would watch you.

Yeah I know what ya mean Dagg, my only thinking was that they like something to discuss, and don't they usually have a section where they look at some hands the analyst has played and he analyses his own hand, so why not just get him to play in it, and then choose hands from them tournies. So they'd still keep the same section as normal, but we'd be getting televised DTD hands

Sounds like a good idea.  Will mention it to the team when I next speak to them, but I'm sure that they will have already seen this thread anyway.

Cheers Scotty, thought ya might like it. Don't know if I've ever seen you in the DTD before (although I've only played it abuot 10 times ever).

P.S. I also think this new twist (and possibly an extra prize) will encourage more people to play in the DTD because I've definitely noticed numbers dwindling.

This has been mentioned a few times on Forum DTD Facebook Page, It would be great if Sky Towers were able to show Forum DTD on the telly. We would not really need an Analyst / Pro to play (tho it would be good if they did) as the Quality of Players that take part is very high (the last 2 weeks have gone to the wire) also quite a few of the Players go to SPT'S.

Forum DTD has gone from Strength to Strength so maybe it's time it got some hands on the telly

Just a thought, but you know how they are working on showing hands from the cash tables with no analysis?

Well imagine if they showed the DTD tables on a Monday night like this.

Not sure if this would be more complicated to do with mtt's and 3 different tourney's would no doubt complicate the matter further (maybe pick 1 of the tourneys each week eg. £2.20 one week, £1.10 the next, etc.).

Just to correct you Paul numbers have been steady between 70 & 80 Runners every week & has been that way for Months

Ok maybe it's just non-DTD runners, I'm just sure we used to get about 170-180 most weeks, non DTDers and us included but the last few weeks have been like 150-160. I was only looking at the total number of people registered in the 7.15 DS but I guess it must be non-DTDers that are going down then.

Surely that defeats the objective Darn? The USP of the DTD is the fact that you have to perform well in 2 out of 3. Picking one tourney a week is selling it short.

I was just referring to the coverage Dagg, and then only if it was technically difficult to switch between the 3 tourneys in the way of covering it that I suggested.

Surely showing one is better than none, no?

Great idea, if it creates bigger fields then it only benefits current REGs who play :)
