i think the turn call should of given u an alrm call...

the king on the river did you in......

you already thought u were ahead , maybe thinking the best they had was A9...

but the turn call was the warning... the river was a check... for me..

    Raise more pre flop.

Maybe a little bit more on the flop, 1.80ish, but your size is prob ok.

Turn bit smaller, river good! ul

I'm hardly the worlds best player, but can I ask what kind of a hand you put him on?

He obviously had you down on AA at best, which is why he called the hand out. Until you hit K on the river, you only had one pair. I don't think I would have been so keen to go all in, after he called your pretty hefty pot bet  on the turn.

You must have had him on trips or at the least A9? If I had A10, AJ, AQ or even AK i would have folded on the turn after your bet, so with him calling, I'd naturally assume he must have a big hand so I probably would have put a nominal bet in after the river and called if he went all in.

    raise bigger pre

bet flop. Dont like c/r if you really want to do it make it bigger

If you think you can c/r flop or value dont see much reason to slow down without specific reads, but if villain is competent I think this line will just valuetown yourself too often, especially when we are a little deep

cheers for the reply's. this guy was pritty much in every hand i could recall at the tble and had him down as a loose player where as for myself i was waiting for a hand like this to come along i play tight . i had him down on weaker ace thats why i reraised the 60p bet on the flop as i hit toppair and good kicker. i played the turn and river a bit to quick in my eyes. didnt think for one second that the had the set as you say the smooth call should have had my alarm bells ringing but as i'm a new player i'm going to make a few mistakes in my time and come up against bad beats
