Thursday Night Live on 865 with Rich, Ryan and Hitman Harvey!

Hello all!

Here's the news on our next live show. It's this Thursday night and here's the line-up!

Your pilot is me, Richard Orford and your poker navigator is none other than Ryan Spittles (or Scotty77 as he's known round these parts. Yes THAT Scotty77, the one who probably relieved you of your chips on the tables last night)...



Joining us for one-night only, is our special guest, forum legend and all-round community stalwart, the larger-than-life tour de force that is HITMAN_RV himself- aka Dave Harvey.


 

 

And here's the show in a nutshell...

7pm – Tonight on Sky Poker

  • A look ahead to that night's big tournaments
  • TV Cash hands from the Mastercash tables (look out around 7pm for details on which table we'll be covering first so you can get on TV)  

8pm – Poker Clinic

  • We really need your input for this- s blitz us with as many hands as you can- anything from the past couple of weeks which you played on a Mastercash table or in a main event. Tell us the details and give us the hand i.d. no.

9pm – Sky Poker School

  • Discussing bluffing in cash. Any thoughts? Post them below...

10pm – Top of the Pots

  • Always a winner. The top 20 biggest cash hands of the week from the TV tables.

11pm – Sky Poker Highlights

  • And finally we'll be covering the final table from that enormous Viva Las Vegas Final from the Sunday night just gone.

We'll have a competition running for a seat into next week's £12K Sky Sports Bounty Hunter- it's a revamped version of our disastrous Richard and Judy You Say, We Pay tribute.

We Describe, You Provide!

Ryan, Dave and I will take it in turns to draw a random poker celebrity, poker term, or just a random object/person from a hat and describe it to a caller on the line. Whichever caller identifies the most from the hat in 30 seconds will win the seat.

So, lots of questions for the Hitman and Ryan please, plus your TV table hands please and anything else you think we should mention on the show!

    I was always told to learn my 3 r's but never knew what they were until now.......

    Obv it means Richard, Ryan & RV so I hope I learn something tonight! (well, from the latter two anyway)

    Q for Scotty - In MTT strategy, when is the best time to change gears? 

    Q for the legend that is Hitman - When is the best time for 'squeeze' play?

    Q for Richard -Do you think West Brom are a better 'footballing' side than say Fulham?

    Scotty - Do you think there's value in showing your hand when you take it down on a cash table with a stone cold bluff if you're normally a very straight forward solid player so you get paid off with your strong hands, or should you avoid giving away ANY information?

    RV - Who was it that won the DTD for March? Only joking lol. I know your MTT results recently have been pretty great, I assume you're not gonna be modest and say it's just a bit of run good, so what's the latest change you've made to your MTT game which you think has made a real noticeable impact?

    I am looking forward to this show and i have no doubt the Hitman will be an excellent guest,it will be interesting to hear the Hitman talking about his approach to MTT'S as he is on a good run at the moment.

    Glad you're looking forward to it. I think it's always good to get a fresh perspective on the game- no matter how experienced or decorated the player is, if they're winning at a certain level then they have wisdom to impart upon other players- simple as.

    Should be a bit of a character too, our Dave!

    Any specific questions re-MTTs for him?

    As a captain of a team, does Hitman RV feel he has to act a certain way? For example does he have to bite his tongue when taking abuse from players at the table? Does he feel like his Captaincy is a hinderance or do the advantages outweigh the negative aspects? I suspect I know the answers to these questions but it may be a good talking point. Best wishes.     SOZ GONG TO MISS THE SHOW IN LONDON FOR YET ANOTHER APPOINTMENT, SO GL WITH THE SHOW AND WITH HITMANRV IN THE STUDIO MIGHT POP INTO FULHAM WE`LL IT WILL BE SAVER ( NO HITMAN THERE) LOL

    Hi all,

    Just a quick update on our Sky Poker School for this evening... we are JUST going to be concentrating on Bluffing in Cash games tonight and NOT on MTTs.  We will cover bluffing in MTTs another day.

    However, we will still be discussing MTTs in a general sense and picking HITMAN_RV's brains about his MTT strategy!

    Questions for the panel tonight!

    How and when do you play the small blind in DYM, stt, mtt?
    What sort of hands do you call /raise with?
    How do you deal with people who will not let you call small blind in a blind on blind situation and insist on shoving all in?

    You tend to get advised about playing a super tight strategy in dyms, what are the pros and cons in using the same strategy in mtts?
