Just played a very quick session and I am going to have a break, mow the lawn and cook tea, as I am really struggling to focus. Will return later, possibly at 6pm for the primo semi.
Seen far worse to be honest. Think there is a good solid bunch of regs at 20nl, yourself included, but there are 1 or 2 relatively fishy regs about, and then a fair amount of day trippers. Posted by 68Trebor
Yep there have been a lot more nutters over the last few days too which has helped my br quite considerably
Have to say I have played really bad tonight. Started off playing the Primo semi at 6pm and missed out on reaching primo when finished about 20 places off a seat. Then went on the cash tables and lost a bundle throguh a combination of bad beats and a lot of really bad play. Not much to add really and have decided to call it a day before any more damage is done.
Not been about for a while as I was busy on another site. Returned tonight and just played in 3 tournies - Main finished 37th, Mini finished 34th, £400 timed 30min - more than doubled. So not a bad session really although it will go down as a losing one.
On other events I see that the Villa still haven't been able to appoint a manager, it really is a sorry state of affairs when you think what a big job this would have been 10 years ago and now we could suffer the humiliation of Martinez, nothing more than an average manager in my opinion, turning us down again so he can remain at the mighty Wigan Athletic. Still hoping we can Mr Lambert and that he brings Grant Holt with him, sorry to all you Canaries out there.
For all you Twitter users out there can I recommend that you start following @WolfpackAlan, extremely humourous and well worth a read. For a taster a couple of his tweets -
"Does this dress make me look fat?" "No, the fat makes you look fat.".
Things to do 1. Make a hole. 2. Call it love. 3. Watch people fall in love.
I hate it when I don't forward a chain letter and then die the next day.
Another day another losing session I am afraid. I 3-tabled 20nl and played a very, very LAG style. To start with this was a disaster and I was down £40 at one point, then the cards started running my way and I got it back into a £15 profit, only for disaster to hit on the very nearly last hand. Due to my style I got involved in 7 hands with pots of more than £30 all of which are shown below along with my thinking, comments would be greatly appreciated. Would also appreciate it if someone would tell me how I poat more than one HH per post.
Last big losing hand of the session. Although I thought he may have the 4 I made the crying call as I had really been dominating this player and felt he may have been a bit sick of me bullying him off hands and would try the bluff. Obviously I was wrong.
Looking back I played this terribly. Probably shouldn't be involved and then should have got out of the way after the re-raise on the turn, always going to be behind. The call after the shove is even worse, just giving money away.
Nearly busto. Tonight was the night that poker decided it didn't like me. I had been 4-tabling nl20 and had lost about £30 witht he cards just not going my way. Fir some unknown reason I decided to try my hand at single tabling 100nl, and yes I am well aware this is a crazy move, but it just felt right for some reason. Started off really good and was surprised how poor the standard of play was, managed to get my stack up over the £200 mark when this happened. I know it is just one of those variance situations but it would of been nice for the poker gods to let me win just this once, would have made a huge difference to my BR.

After this I had the following hand and was slightly tilty and basically bust my roll in one night.
Going to have to re-evaluate what I am going to do now. Carry on with cash, never really seem to win, or concentrate on just MTT's, or give poker up as a bad job. Will sleep on this and decide what to do tomorrow, with the aim of coming up with a plan for June and sticking to it.
lol............try playing live games......most pubs and clubs do them........this is basically a fruit machine , a real deck of cards hasnt been programmed unlike sky poker .....and the programmers have put far too much emphasis on bad beats ...... yes they do happen in live games ..............but its the norm on sky , to the point i actually consider folding AA............ and its much more fun playing live, you can have a proper chat and a laugh
Have come to the conclusion I am going to give cash a miss for the month of June and concentrate on multi table SNG's and MTT's with buy ins of $3 to $11. Unfortunately as SKY do not host multi-table SNG's and very few MTT's at the £5 to £10 range I have made the decision to try a month at stars. I will continue to participate on the forum and will still update this diary, although without the HH's. Not sure if SKY will block this thread or allow it to continue, we can but try.
On other news it looks like Paul Lambert is a done deal for the Villa, lets hope it goes through now as defo best man for job. Think Bent and Holt could be a great partnership, like the good old days, Gray and Little, Withe and Shaw.
Deposited £150 and played my first session on stars, consisted of $3.50 Rebuy 180 man SNG's. Strategy with these is to not re-buy or add-on and wait for big hands and bet them hard in the period bfore re-buy ends.
Finished 179th, 45th and then managed to finish 4th for $140. Bit gutted as felt I had real chance to take it down which with a 1st prize of $528 would of been nice. Will show all profits / losses in £'s as all my money is held in this currency.
First things first, Mr Lambert is officially a Villain and will lead the rebuild of the mighty. This is excellent news and at last Randy has got the right man, only took him 3 attempts. Hearing rumours that Zaha may be on his way along with Holt - Both would be excellent additions although would be sorry to see Weisman go in the other direction of Zaha deal, think he has a good future in front of him. Atleast will look forward to the new season now.
Played 4 tournies on stars this aft - 3 x $3.50 rebuy 180's - Nothing to note except out early in them all. Also played the $5.40 turbo knockout (similar to Bounty hunter except your head prize never grows, so all knockouts earnt you $1) Finished 151 out of 2662 for areturn of $18.31, which included $5 in bounties. Never really got going and was nursing shortstack from about 500 players out so did ok to get to 151. Doubt if I will be playing again today as Sat night is for going out and drinking. Off to my local for a few jars of the black stuff to reward myself for another working week completed.
Just watched Derby and have to say Camelot is a mighty impressive horse, did think at about 2 furlongs out he was struggling to get there but have to say he was given an excellent ride by perhaps the most exciting jockey to arrive on the scene for quite some time. The O'Briens are beginning to make horse racing a one team spectacle. How long until the classics and group 1's are renamed the O'Briens.
Played 6 MTT / Multi table SNG in the last couple of days for a total buyin of $31.90 and no returns. Played OK and just suffering the old variance thingy.
sorry to see this mate, tbf my roll is pretty much busto. been on sky for yrs and yrs and never had a time like it. now i know im not the best player in the world, but i can hold my own up until (nl50) had great wins live . i dont keep adding and topping up my br (apart from when i bought in direct to grand final spt at dtd). but i have seen my br go from £1000 to 50 in 2 mnths.
unlike you mate i dont play on another site, so i need to re evaluate if i want to carry on playing or not. played in a tourny live on sat night, 51 runners and came 2nd so my game cant be that far off.
very busy at work until october ,so i think i will take some time off till then and see how i feel. gl bud phil
