Posted this on the show thread tonight so apologies if you've seen it already....
A quick question - I was recently playing in a min stakes MTT and found myself on a table where 4 of the players were "away" for a long time - obviously I didn't help myself to any blinds (!) but it got me thinking.
If all the players on a S&G table (a dym for example) marked themselves away at the start and never came back, would the game ever finish? I don't think it could happen on a cash table (the rake would eventually take all the cash) or in a MTT (they'd eventually be re-allocated to other tables).
What - other than sky intervention - would stop the game?

If they where all away on cash then they would "sit out". As far as MTT blinds would be so big the time a hand got played, the bb and sb would be going all in due to the blind levels
MTTs as Shaun said would eventually get to a point where the SB and BB were forced to be all-in because of the size of the blinds and someone would win and so on.
SnGs would be the same as above (DYMs included)
On a different note, if people are sat out, you definitely need to be raising to steal blinds. You'd be doing it if they were there, only this time you got 100% fold equity
Thanks for putting me straight - of course, once the blinds got bigger than the stacks...... Thanks guys.
