As a few (ok very few) of you know, I have been submitting blogs to Sky for a year or two now.
A surprising amount of thought and effort goes into them. I make attempts to keep them informative (where indicated) and amusing (where possible). I think, in general, they are well received, and that keeps me doing them. Nothing like a bit of massage of the old ego once in a while. I AM sad enough to check the community daily after I post a blog, hoping to see a comment or two (maybe even some positive ones)
So, it came as something of a surprise to get an "inbox" from Sky saying that the rules on blogs are changing. In future ...."Feel free to message one of the team if you do want to post anything and we will then review and post if everything is ok."
Now I'm not stupid enough to think this only applies to me. I'm sure it's the same across the board - possibly even Tikay and Orford. However, I still find it a little insulting that as a middle-aged professional man, hoping to write a bit of entertainment on a poker forum, I now need to ask sir first.
I am careful not to write anything with hidden swearing, or (I believe) anything that would bring the site into disrepute. I have no history of my blogs being taken down or amended. In short, this new rule seems to be a "presumed guilt", and I'll be honest, I can't be bothered with that.
So, I may appear childish or immature, but I'll find a new forum to post my blogs in future. I know only a handful of people will notice, and possibly fewer will care, but sometimes I think you have to make a decision and stick by it.
I am grateful to Sky for giving me Blog Posting priveleges in the past - I'm sure they are not given lightly, and i will continue to read the many excellent blogs on the site - hopefully from one or two new faces.

Certainly I wouldn't take it personally Graham. Always enjoy reading your blogs and would be a shame if you stopped posting. Actually, i was dissapointed when this wasn't another of your blogs!

Hello Graham,
That is a great shame but it is probably due to the clever subliminal messages that you wove into the text of your blogs. It was easy to notice that the first letter of each line spelt out swear words. It took more time to realise that if you read it backwards it sounded as though you were saying that, "Paul is Dead" reprising your influence on the Abbey Road album.
Good luck with your next project with Julian Assange.
See you on the tables matey.
Rob
Always read them with interest when they go up.
Really wouldnt take a new policy so personally though bud. I mean its not out of line for an industry to want a blog to go through some screening/HR policy is it?
I never did get that depeche mode prize....................
I will mis your blogs'
I greatly miss Irish Rover on the forums as well!
I'd always assumed Blog were vetted before being made live anyway.
I'm sure there's a whole world of liability difference between forum posts and website content.
