You play more MTT's than me but would it really be better to shove pre with ~18 bigs?

Obv post flop is fine & nothing more than bad luck.

@ Silentbob - If you raise from 18bb stack here and are flatted then miss flop you're in a lot of pain also OOP to first limper.

When you shove you most likely have best hand anyway but also make the game nice and easy.

I think this should be a shove. 18BB isn't a bad shoving stack with 2 limpers and 3BB in the middle already. The problem is if we raise to 1200, we only get re-raised by a hand that has us in big trouble but most of the time we'll get called and will be forced to play the hand out of position and we'll miss the flop 2/3 times. That's going to be really bad for us. So basically when we make it 1200 the ideal scenario is for everyone to fold. The same is true when we're shoving but the shove is more likely to achieve the desired result.

18BB is towards the top end of what we can shove. If we had 25BB or so, it's not so straightforward.

EDIT: Actually the ideal scenario when we shove is that we'll get called by AT or worse but that's probably unlikely.
