4NL - Ok to call here?

I had this hand earlier, and to be honest, I didn't think much of it, I thought it was completely standard and just moved on. Since then, I mentioned it to people and they said I should have folded to the shove and should be less gambly.

I figured, I'm flipping sometimes, but more often that not I'm crushing them or at least 60/40, very rarely am In ever gonna be in serious trouble here? What are your thoughts. I don't have much in the way of reads, only that he is definitely not great and aint playing that solid, too much limping etc.

If this is a fold, then what do you call with? Do you fold AK too because you'll be flipping just as much with that and I don't see that much of a difference with a call there. Do you only call with TT+ or what? Or am I right and it is standard and the people I spoke to are too risk averse?

The result is unimportant although I did lose lol.

This is definitely a snappity snap, anyone who says otherwise is silly :)

After rake there will be £2.96 in the pot, you have to put in £1.38 so you need to be better than 46.5% against his range... at NL4 with AQ... so SNAPPPP

    Snap call.
You don't recognise him so he's likely a fish
He has less than 40BBs so he's likely a fish
Even if he shows up with KK/QQ you have outs

Go on then, I'll stand by what I said on facebook.

I'm folding this at nl4. AQ isn't a monster and there are just so many better spots to be had that you don't need to call off  another 35 BB's here.

Different matter maybe if he's doing this a lot.

So what? If this is a good spot we should take it

Exactly my thoughts. There is a better spot than racing QQ v AK, but I'd still take that 100 times in a row

This is a +ev spot, if you are rolled for the level you are playing you should be taking every single +ev spot, no matter how marginal

Because of the extortionate rake at NL4, AKsuited vs QQ of different suits (to the AK) would actually be -ev without dead money in the pot :S

Well I don't think I've ever picked up QQ where the suits aint different lol.

But yeah when I posted that I thought to myself that the rake probably makes it not very profitable but I'm still never folding QQ pre.

I'm not expert but to be honest i'd call this every time.

Too many players at NL4 treat a short stack like tournament chips and shove when they're lowrolled with Ax lots of the time. I personally don't get it just - you can reload so there's no sense in just shoving 10, 20, 30+ big blinds when it's in a game like cash where you can afford to be patient. Because of this i'd call every time.

Don't think you should be calling 40 bigs pre with aq at any level. Think this is marginal even at nl4!
