site full of really rude players

only been here for near 2 weeks and find that this is the worst site ive ever played on when it comes to players being rude and abusive 

think i will be going back to my old site as its just poor,i play poker for fun and when your being abused for playing is just wrong 

just had the worst of it on a cash table just now where a player was just being plane abusive for no reason to every1 

might try this site again sometime but for now i will finish my new player bonus off then go elsewhere

    Sorry that has been your experience Chris. As in real life most players here are very pleasant to chat with either in chatbox or via forum. Unfortunately some idiots will always be obnoxious. You can always report any bad language to site moderators who will investigate.

    Hi Chris, Sorry to hear that you have been having problems with abusive players at the tables, please don't let these people spoil your enjoyment of the game.

    As the others have said you should always report abusive behaviour to customer services, contact details are at the bottom of this and every page, and they will take the appropriate action as required.

    I hope that you decide to stick with Sky as you will find that the vast majority of players are very helpful and friendly.

    .............. just cut and paste the WHOLE chat box and send it to customer services - they can then decide who provoked who - or whether anyone had overstepped the mark of common decency, used derogatory or racial remarks or wished someone had an incurable disease or would die. 

    Almost 100% of the Sky Community detest anybody who choses to say things in the chatbox that they would never say face-to-face - and although we will never get rid of such behaviour (because there is always someone new coming along) we really do not want the only option to be to switch the chat off.

    Hi,

    this is a shame that this has happened and im sure you will also come accross this at all of the other sites as well and as above it happens very rarely and tends to happen a bit more frequently in the early hours at weekends this is obviuously due to some people on the sauce!!

    I do think people try to do this to make you go on tilt and to be honest it probably did effect me and my play for a while but have learned to not let it effect my play and have benefited alot from this and have actually noticed it is mainly very weak players that do this imo

    I find that the etqiutte in the chat box is worse when playing cash then on DYMs or MTTs - in fact these days I normally turn chat off on cash

    Report the people who have abused you as said above.

    As a whole, i find it quite a pleasant site and the community is excellent. Only get one or two who try and get a bit lairy but to be honest i just laugh it off as its usually those who are losing. Just reprt em and hope you stick around for a bit as on the whole it is generally a nice site to play.

    tbh you get bad people in every walk of life, everywhere you go.

    Just rise above it for most part.

    Heck, at least they are insulting you in english rather than spanish :p

    Some people just think its clever to mouth off, not even worth your breath to enlighten them how dumb they are.

    I mainly play on another site and I would say that the chat is a lot more friendly on sky both in the chat box and especially in the forum compared to the other site. To be honest there will be abuse in chat boxes on whatever site you play on. I would also add a couple of things

    1. As mentioned above report rude/abusive players.
    2. Be happy they are getting abusive as they are probably now tilting and will not be playing their best game.
    3. Be happy your life is better than theirs if they are getting that stressed over a game!

    I've only recently started playing cash and have not had hardly any chat never mind abusive lol. I can only remember 2 occasions of  abusive chat in the year I have been here. The abuse I got on other sites was far worse and disgusting and that was on freeplay tables! 99.99% of the players here will not tolerate it. I think you have just been unlucky in that you have come acroos abuse so soon. Believe me Sky is the friendliest site to play on (but we still want your money).

    Strangely, like FD,  the only abuse I've ever had was on a freeplay table when I first started to learn.  I've found that on the contrary most chat is positive/friendly.  Think you've just been unlucky.

    i hear what you are all saying but i have not had it as bad as what i have had it on this site 

    even some of the reg players on here feel they have to follow you when you give them a bad beat and try to intimadate you by calling you donk and start lol ing when you lose a hand 

    i know it should not get to you but i am fairly new to the whole poker and dont fully understand it and when you get that it does put you off and its just not worth it 

    i know you can turn chat off but as i said in my 1st post on sky i am here to have fun and meet new people and you cannot really do that when you have chat turned off 

    alot of you on here seem really cool and i must be really unlucky to be running into these people on here 

    i will see how it goes for the rest of my 30 days but if it carries on then i wont stay as its not what im here for and just not worth we wasting money and not having fun

    I think there are people like that everywhere, but, the community on here is second to none. It is never nice when someone is being rude or abusive but as we are online you can always stand and move to another table. I really hope you stay on Sky Poker as it is, in my opinion, the best site to play poker on. Don't let these people affect your enjoyment and if you ignore them they usually get sick of not getting a response. Most of them are doing it to get a reaction and will give up when they realise the tactic is not working. I hope you continue to participate in the community and enjoy your poker. Best wishes.
