The GreekWay Rule

I suppose you haven't heard the GreekWay rule before...Well I haven't heard it also, because it just came up a few days ago...

I was thinking for a long time of having a challenge here on Sky and I came with an idea...I have been playing poker for 3 years now and I have listened to so many players saying that have built their bankroll from 50$, so I said the obvious...

If they can do it, why shouldn't I???

I had a chat with my fellow  members on Team51 in order to help me set my targets and the details of the challenge... After all the discussion we came up with the GreekWay Rule...

Simple as that...If you want to move up stakes forget all these things regarding the 20buy-ins or 30 if you want to be more conservative...That's what Tikay and the men his age do (no offence to TK)... Poker has become aggressive at the tables so bankroll management has to be the same...

GreekWay Rule: If you want to move up the stakes you have to have 3BIs for the next available level...

So now that I have stated the rule, let's go back to the original challenge... I will deposit 60quid, I will start playing some NL20 and when I manage (hopefully) to 90quid I will move up the stakes...

I know that somebody will come up and say you are against any rules...You will bust in 10 hands etc etc...I know all the dangers and I understand them...It's more of a fun challenge and not be compared with the diaries of TommyD, Rolfus, or EvilPingu...I am not going to post hands or anything like that...I am announcing my challenge in order to show to other recreational players, if I can build a roll from 60quid, they will probably be able to do also because I am a recreational player and I admit that I am not one of the best ones...Also I will be happy if anyone that reads this thread will come and say hello when he/she sees me playing...

I always liked a bit of a gambling and I already know that I need to get really lucky in order to move up... If I don't manage it, I will lose 60quid...That's probably 1 or 2 or 3 nights out, depending how much you drink...So, it's money I can afford to lose...

That's all folks... I am happy to answer any of your questions about the challenge... I am playing only Holdem in April and I am thinking of doing the same challenge in May playing Omaha...I don't set a target profit...If I don't bust till the end of the month I will update regularly...

Don't forget this...We are in because it's fun...If you are not having fun or not enjoying it then just stop playing...

    Like the idea

Also think you got the game to do it, if you get off to a flying start!

What profit target/highest cash level, do you have in mind before you hit the withdraw button? Or will u just keep going till u busto?

It's all about the fun of it...Everyone can do it, that is what makes it attractive...And also it's not that expensive...

I haven't thought about the withdrawal to be honest... I think I will withdraw all the amount I have at the end of the month...

But if things go extremely well, I will have to give it a second thought...

Just finished playing the Happy Hour... Pretty Dissapointed...

Sat on a table, managed to get from 20 to 38ish, but finished with 10...shy..:(

I will keep the positives from this one...From now on, when I manage to win anything from 40big blinds and more I will stand from the table, sit in another one with 100bigs...

Awesome rule, much better than wait till you have a million buyins to move up

GL, at least this should move quicker whether you win or bust than the other diaries

For the record, because so many things get attributed to my colleagues & I me which are incorrect.....

".....If you want to move up stakes forget all these things regarding the 20buy-ins or 30 if you want to be more conservative...That's what Tikay and the men his age do (no offence to TK)....."

No offence taken, I am quite used to it, but as a statement of fact, you are wholly incorrect.

Yes, I completely understand that Mr Way, unfortunately not everyone saw it that way, & I got a bunch of PM's about it. Some were not very nice. (:
