I was fortunate to meet with Sky Adam at Glasgow and have a really good chat with him. I actually managed to interview him on the Nutz TV live stream.
Some of the stuff that is coming sounds amazing. In order to achieve that, they are basically having to rewrite the entire sites code.
Adam gave me an example. when they changed the tables, they were told a short time later that they needed to change the sky Logo in the centre of the tables. That took months to get completed. Under the new design something like that will take less than an hour.
Now I had a few beers when I was talking to adam, so the details might be a little inaccurate but you get the gist. I know it's frustrating but the wait will be worth it I'm sure

As belsibub Posted, & linked, it is exactly as I went to great lengths to explain in minute detail a month or so back.
Nothing has changed, everything is exactly on schedule so far. It may change, but so far, everything is going to plan.
As I explained at the time, to prepare for so many changes, & of such magnitude, a lot of "under the radar" preparations are being made. Players cannot see these, or notice any difference, but each week, you see a thread here called "Scheduled Outage tomorrow", and another part of the jigsaw is installed, then tested, then the next phase can continue.
I did see comment somewhere last week by several players suggesting a little glitch that arose recently was caused by capacity constraints, or "too many players on site". Wrong.
Sky Poker apologised, & reget, ANY glitch, no matter how small, but "capacity" is no longer a problem here, nor will it be in my lifetime - or even, I respectively suggest - yours!
One of those under the radar changes that took place in the last month was THE biggest component & design improvement the site has ever made. You cannot see it, feel it, or touch it, or even notice any difference. But Sky Poker now has capacity to have ten times more traffic than it currently enjoys. Ten times.
Building for the future is not a short term thing, it's important to get everything just so.
Everything is going along perfectly in that respect, but it just takes time, & prioritising.
The difference here between now & 18 months ago is truly astonishing, but more, much more, is in the pipeline.
As I noted previously, Adam Harmer - Head of Product - tries to get to every SPT, & brings along his laptop which contains all the developments & work-in-progress, & openly shows everything to anyone who is interested. Almost everyone who has a look comes away surprised by quite how complex the whole thing is. Software development sounds easy, as do so many things until you look under the bonnet, but it is very important to get it "just so", & that is what Sky Poker will do.
We are fortunate to have so many loyal players, who have been with us for so long, which in itself says a lot, & together with the continued influx of new players means that SkyPoker, unlike most other online poker sites, can continue it's record of unbroken & vigorous growth.

We all believe in the site, and look forward to the future! but the glitch referred to in the thread above happened! and no satisfactory explanation has been given as to why!
Similar glitches happened during UKOPS and on other evenings with high volume on the site. It is only natural to assume the problems were related to the increase in volume.
My personal experience was disconnection from a tourney and S&G whilst holding premium hands. Then when reconnected the tournament speed reduced so much that you could see the flop dealt one at a time
I love playing on the site I love the shows and the community but I would like a true explanation as to why the system failed. I lost a minimal amount of money as a result of the glitch but surely deserve an answer?

Sky Poker apologised? Not to me they didn't! They told me that there was no problem, even though many players experienced the same thing at the same time. If Sky Poker made an apology then it stands to reason that they are admitting there was a problem, no? Is it also a coincidence that it happened when there were 2,000 players in a single tournament? This problem occured before and Sky said it was a capacity problem so when the same thing happens we automatically assumed it was the same problem. When Sky tell us there is no problem what are we meant to think? If the apology was made then I'd love to see it. At least I know they have admitted liabilty and I will contact them to receive my buy-in back that was lost due to the problem. Any link to the apology would be gratefully received. Best wishes. That is a lame excuse for an apology with no explanation of why it happened. CC say there was no problem so you need to get all your ducks in a row. 1 side of the business saying one thing and the other side saying another.

It is simple to say Move On when you aren't/weren't affected. Admittance of the problemby Sky an explanation of why it happened by Sky and a sincere apology from Sky would be the gracious way to deal with things. Not simply sweeping it under the carpet. Thanks for the response and I am not blaming you, but, a company that takes money from customers to provide a service should explain/apoogise when it cannot fulfill its obligations.
