In Response to Re: where's shaun84 leaving thread gone? : Really? Seems kinda... i dunno weird? Do you mean ALL (historical) posts are erased? Posted by Glenelg
I assume that it is because the forum posts are linked to our actualy SkyBet accounts....if one is closed then it has nothing to link to...
I missed it first time round, I have no idea why he left and it's a shame because I would have posted on that.
I have no special knowledge but from memory of times before a deleted account deletes everything including all posts on the forum and threads started by that member.
I take it he asked for a deletion rather than self exclude?
I have no more information than any of you what the correct answer is, & "Data Protection" means it would be a waste of time me, or anyone else, asking. Some matters between the business & players have to remain private. That is the law, (Data Protection Act, 1988), not a Sky Poker rule.
However, a quick scan of the Forum reveals that ALL Shaun's Posts seem to have disappeared.
We (the players & Members of this Community) could perhaps surmise then, that as he said he had asked for his Account to be closed, that is what Sky Poker did - they are obliged to do that, if someone requests it - and if you do not have an Account, then it is, by default, impossible to be a Member of the Forum, or "Community". Removing his Posts would not be a "manual" Option, or any option, it would happen automatically as a software default, I would imagine.
From me, personally, I wish Shaun well in the future.

He wasnt happy with a response from customer services so told them to close his account

But people who aren't logged in are posted as anonymous, so you can post without an account?
So why didn't Shaun's posts just become unlinked to his account and be shown as anon?
If you're reading this, I understand you've closed your account which is of course your decision. I hope though that you recognise that we value your input on Channel 865 and you'll continue to watch the show and email in, even if you've decided (temporarily hopefully) not to play anymore.
yep will miss you shaun even when we/he had a moan about what i said about sky claire`s ankle`s ( lol ) he was big enough to say in chat box that he was wrong and he was just having an off day, hope you come back soon. martin the liverpool fan from eastbourne
