Tip number 2 - Food, depends how much u want t6o spend. But breakfast at rest at front of Paris is excellent - cant remember name though. Best buffet on strip is at Wynn. Most expensive about $28 I think but if you want to keep girlfriend happy. Its a long walk from Caesars, bestget bus or cab
Request - can you smuggle me in your suitcase
Have fun and ooo it will be hot drink lots of water
keep a look out for elvis.
but I`ve been looking at a website called allvegaspoker.com which gives reviews on poker rooms, tourneys, cash games etc so have a look lots of different buyin`s to suit all players hope this helps you.
I'm jealous....hope you enjoy it as it's a great place to visit.
Won't make any suggestions where to play poker as I'm sure there are better qualified people to do that but as for food, I have to suggest a few places! The Steakhouse at Ballys is really good, as is BeniHanas which is at the LVH (used to be called Las Vegas Hilton) while Diablos at the Monte Carlo is also great and good value.
If you're going to see a show when you're out there any of the Cirque De Soleil shows are great. If Mystere is still on at Treasure Island, that is unbelievable but there are lots to choose from. There are various ticket outlets on the strip where you can usally buy cut-price tickets for Cirque De Soleil shows and other shows for that particular day.
Have a great time!!
A Cirque du Soleil show is a must thought. "Love!" based around the songs of the Beatles is excellent.
Plus the Blue Man Group show is also excellent
Do the all you cna eat breakfasts available at alot of the casinos - the Luxor'a was good
The Outback Steakhouse was also very good
very very jealous
Dave & I have been to the best adults playground for more years than we care to remember, and put this "guide" together for family & friends; so as Sky is now classed as part of the family, here it is. As everybody has said you can gamble/play poker 24/7 in most of the resort hotels, so this guide is more about what's on offer as well.

ALL hotels have sophisticated late nite bars/clubs, the drinks are not cheap, but you never know who you might spot.
The Little Things
1) GETTING AROUND: If there are only two of you, the "Deuce" bus ($5 for a day pass) is cheapest, if more than 3 people then taxi's are ok, but sometimes slow - at busy times you can walk faster. The monorail is now open which is very fast and runs down from MGM Grand to the Sahara, stopping at nearly all the casinos on that side of the strip - $5 one way.
2) All prices shown everywhere are before tax so an extra 5% to 9% is added at the end of the bill.
3) Tipping is part of the culture: $1 to $5 is adequate depending how good the service is - think of it as
part of the bill & you won't feel so bad.
4) Yes, (you may have been told but didn't quite believe it) you do get free drinks ALL the time you
are sat at a one-armed bandit or at any of the gaming tables - you will get nice young (some not so
young), scantily clad women tempting you with the word "cocktails". You order what you want & she will bring it to you in 5 to 10mins a $1 to $2 tip will keep her attention; she will bring tea or coffee as well as water if you want. You can only order one drink per person at a time, but doubles (large) are fine. All the major bottled beers are available.
5) During hot weather (triple digit days) ALWAYS carry & drink lots of water unless you want sun stroke.
6) OK for ALL the Girls - SHOPPING
All the hotels have shops & even big malls, pricing reflects the Hotel quality.
The Vegas Outlet shopping Mall is great for clothes, shoes, kitchenailia and pottery - prices are 50% - 75% lower.
THE FORUM SHOPS IN CAESARS PALACE & THE FASHION SHOW MALL (next to TI) ARE
A MUST SEE.
7) There are plenty of 'Blackpool' style souvenir shops full of great tat.
8) The only bit of Vegas that's slightly annoying are the touts that approach you offering (they never talk, as it's breaking the law) cards & brochures for the "Good-time" girls of the city. You soon get to see past them.
9) Phoning family and friends - rates from the rooms are extortionate, so you can purchase phone cards from sovenier shops.Remember you are 9 hrs behind the UK so 09.00am Vegas is 6.00pm UK
PLACES TO GO OUTSIDE VEGAS - if you can tear yourself away
THE GRAND CANYON
1) No words, pictures or video can do it justice.
2) You MUST go to the bottom & put your hand into the Colorado.
3) Helicopter is best (expensive) as the small planes do shake you about a lot. $250 dollars each
Scenic Tours is the best
THE HOOVER DAM
Take the half day trip & make sure it takes you on the full tour below (called the hard hat tour).
LAKE MEAD
It's the bluest, blue water we have ever seen, the paddle boat steamer is the best way around, it goes
to the Hoover Dam and back - it takes about 3 hours, so don't forget the sun screen/hat.
You can book a tour that does the Hoover Dam & Lake Mead on the same day.
Have a great time
Sue & Dave
When you check in at Caesars use a $20 note as a 'bookmark' in your passport for where your picture and details are.
When I went in November the check in time was about 2pm, but they're so good at customer service I checked in before 11am and did that trick - got a basic room in the cheapest tower upgraded to a mini-suite in the 'one better' tower. So definitely worth a try. ;D
Other people either will or already have covered everything else - it was just when I read you were staying at Caesars that I thought it was well worth sharing that advice.
