I would make it more pre-flop. You're going to be out of position which, as you know, will make it tougher to get value on later streets and you really want him to get it in pre-flop or be able to put his whole stack in on the flop with a draw. You could make this 500 instead of 400... Minor quibble really.

Flop is okay. Again, you could make it a little bit more but then you're in danger of giving away your hand as an overpair that is afraid of draws. If you think he's good enough to pick up on that, then you'd be giving him the chance to play perfect poker against you. I'd still want to get it in on this flop, though, against most players. Might make this a full-pot bet, even though I hardly ever make full-pot bets; it's just such a wet board. There are so many bad cards in the deck, we're very likely to be ahead right now and if he's going to get it in while behind it's most likely to be now - flush draws, straight draws, Jacks, underpairs.

The turn is the worst card in the deck, obviously. I don't hate betting but I think that if you're going to put in 1000 you might as well put in 2700. You're caught between the devil and the deep blue sea really. What would you do if you check and he shoves? How many bluffs are in his range? I dunno...

On the river, I don't think you can realistically bet. You're only beating one-pair hands and I think his range is much stronger than that now. His stack will demand a call with any set, two-pair, straight or flush so you're really hoping he has only some KJ, KQ, Jx, Qx type hand. Sadly I think it's a check-fold on the river...

As Borinloner said, probably raise bigger pre, but just horrible how the board ran out.
