Sky version of Sharkscope?

VespaPXVespaPX Member Posts: 12,524
edited May 2012 in Poker Chat
I have noticed recently that a lot of players are looking for someone to get their stats off SS.
I was just wondering whether Sky could do their own cut down, Sky only, version and players either pay cash or their points to access it.
What do you think?

There is a sharkscope 'HUD' available on some sites.

It saves you the hasstle of manually skoping opponents and making your own notes.

It brings up the stats on every player for you, on the table.

For example, if you load a 6 player dym, underneath each players name, it will tell you how many games/profit/and ROI (you can personalize it to display whatever stats you find useful).

You can then drill in to the more detailed stats of each player, from the table itself.

Tiz great, but obviously isn't, and probably never will be compatible with sky   :(

    Morning Mr Vespa.

As "Sky_Poker" has already stated, there are no plans to introduce this.

    Why so?

Mainly, I would suggest, because so many people misuse Sharkscope, & use the evidence to mock, diss, humiliate & abuse others. Go figure, we live in a strange world.

Go on to some of the Sky-Poker dedicated Facebook "Team" pages, & you will see reams of such comments - "I sharkscoped this idiot who was on my table, look how bad he is". I guess some people just enjoy (anonymously & behind their backs) mocking others. Which is not exactly what anyone likes to see, imo, & Sky Poker are not in the business of encouraging that sort of thing, we want to see people enjoying their poker, not being stressed out by negative stuff or personal abuse.

Speaking personally, in fact, (NOT on behalf of the business), it would not surprise me one iota if Sky Poker, at some time in the future, when higher priorities have been addressed, ceased to allow Sharkscope the ability to track Sky Poker results. Several sites have done so already. They are very misleading, & far from accurate, & it could be argued that their positives are outweighed by their negatives. I'm not even sure it's right that Sharkscope have the "right" to profit from information they lift from Sky Poker, but thats a whole other story.

Poker is supposed to be a level playing field, & allowing some to access info on others does not sit well with everyone. So I cannot imagine, ever, Sky Poker running an in-house version.

    Hi Tony
Thank you for your detailed reply, and as ever what you say makes sense.
I agree that SS isn't perfect as some of my games have been missing in the past.
I'll just play my own game and enjoy myself.
    Cheers
    Mick

Oh and no offence meant in my captions for tonights show :-)

I cannot do that, (delete your thread) I'm afraid.

I am not sure, but I think you can do it by deleting the first Post (your first post on thread) but I may be wrong.

Anyway, the thread is fine, no worries this end, it was a reasonable question.

No worries , i'll let it wither away into the deep depths of the forum.
    Thanks again Tony.

great and understanding post tikay. I admit ive been one of those people whos scoped someone whos dshed out a beat on me, however ive never mentioned this players name or grpah publically, on thw whole i only use it to track my own results.

One quick follow question, would you rekon sky would allow an "opt-in" function much like that other big site?

No idea, Don, as the convo is hypothetical. If it were my decision, "no". But it's not. ;)
