Someone do some maths and calculate the odds of winning this. Assuming there is 200 entrants in each and everyone is of equal ability I calculate odds at winning 1 in 20,000. But my maths suck so could be way off:). Posted by Spad3s
Wrong
Whoever wins the main event is guaranteed to win the main event (Obviously). So the main event is basically selecting one "random" person, and the chances of the Jackpot going on any given night is actually the chances of that person winning the mini.

It's actually a lot more likely than it sounds. Posted by EvilPingu
The odds I was trying to estimate was for any specific person who enters both to win this jackpot, not the odds of the jackpot being won by anyone which is a lot different.

sorry Spad3s,
Pingu is right unless you want to determine before the main event which player is going to win it & then that same person has to then win the mini as well.
Otherwise all you are calculating is the odds of whoever wins the main wins the mini as well.

No I want to estimate my odds of winning. So, we are both right, but calculating different things.:) Or maybe I am wrong.
main event, say 500 runners, a person's chance of winning is 500/1 mini event, also 500 runners, a person's chance of winning is 500/1
chances of you, or one specified person, winning both is 25,000 to 1.
however, there are 500 individuals trying to win, so the odds are back to 500/1 that the winner of the main will also be the winner of the mini. similarly, the chances of the winner of the main also going on to win the mini is 500/1.
the good news continues....
as the opportunity to do this is once a day it is fair to anticipate that the double will be done every 500 days, or a year and a half.
even more good news....
it is just as likely to happen on the 500th day as it is tonight.
Coming from poker players this is a scary lack of understanding of probability. Even Bearlyther thinks winning both is a tall order....
PS hope anyone who buys into a 500 runner tourney thinks their odds of winning are better than 500-1, otherwise financially better to go and play roulette.
Can't wait for tonight and hope to be winning the main and mini and taking down the Jackpot. Will be hard deciding who to give the seats too though. I will have to give one to my best mate as he will need to drive me to Nottingham, but who gets the rest? I feel a sale coming on.lol. Good luck to all participating(except against me). Best wishes. I think you your chances are better. Surely 500 runners means your odds of winning are 499/1 or am I missing something?
Forget the odds, just click some buttons, close your eyes when all in, get very lucky and booooooom you win the jackpot = simplez Nice promo Sky! Posted by dylan12
