Been playing poker 6 weeks now

And the one thing i carnt get my head around is the number of players who will give abuse to someone for playing bad !

It really does amaze me when you see them saying stuff like "what you doing calling with q 3 off from the small blind" etc etc etc

The strange thing is aswell that most of the players who i see saying stuff like this are players who i would say were winning players at the game and yet they constantly try to educate and ridicule the non regs saying stuff like " I carnt win against bad players like you" etc etc.

Would it make them happier to be sat at a table with Scotty77, TommyD, Lolufold etc etc all day long ?  and if so why arnt they ?

Another good one i see time and again is when a player gets outfloped etc like on 2 occasions i can think of today on 50nl when 2 diferent regs raised up to £1.50 pre and got called only to hit top pair on both occasions verses floped 2 pair from their oponants, then in both hands getting it all in on flop to see the bad news at showdown and then calling their opos worse than !. !. !. !. for calling pre and not even giving any thought to the fact that in both instances they were the ones who played the hand bad because their opos only put £1.50 in the pot with the worst hand where as they put there entire stack in once they were behind :)

I am loving my first 6 weeks of sky poker but could never have guessed how crazy this game could send some people :)

Hopefully i wont be going down that same road at anytime lol

I'm sure you won't mate, you clearly have a great understanding of the game.

Not trying to suck up here but you play better than some people who have been playing basically daily on the site for the last 5 years....there are 2 who I'm thinking of actually (you've probably played them both) and they both love to give it out in chat too haha.

Yeah it's a crazy old world... imagine Man Utd saying I'd rather play Barcelona in the champions league final than Wolves. It's just naive, foolish thinking which is generally borne from the kind of attitude that will never go that far in poker.

i would prefer to sit at a table with abusive players tbh, but its absolutely donkish to tell a bad player how bad he is playing, he might start to play better; we dont want that!! but 90% of the time its the bad players who talks trash, as they never do wrong, so never improve.

Can i say these abusive-player threads are popping up all over the place, if you want to take poker seriously its a good thing!!, if you play for fun then maybe its not, if not then report them, simple.

Gl with the poker mate, see you at the tables..

I'm a numpty who has said all types of pathetic cr ap including what you said until recently. Have turned my chat off now. Can't even explain why as I'm nothing like that off here :( Nothing to do with being a keyboard warrior as I can more that hold my own off it, I just have issues I think lol).

Though no matter how many people say don't tap the glass, in myexperience 98% of them don't leave anyway. It's ridiculous all the same as you say.

(I've had a very good coupl of months so I presume you're not talking about me Scotty!? ;) )

Hi Arazi. Glad you're enjoying it and i couldn't agree more. I've seen you on the cash tables on sky and you seem to be holding your own. How long have you been playing poker for as i've been playing less than a year but wouldn't play regs at cash myself at this stage.
As for regs 'tilting' because that's what it is, then fine as you have an edge then but if its rude and/or abusive then SKY must make an example and impose a ban on their chat. Just report them Arazi. I do as i don't want it stopping my enjoyment. i won't allow it to tilt me as i won't give them an advantage but i will and do report it it if i feel its warranted. All the best Arazi. My cah play is poor so you won't be seeing me at your tables but one day, eh?
PS i've just seen that post about playing your first hand in march. Surely not? How have you learned as i need THAT book!!!

its poker and lets face it not everyone is the same and some go on tilt more than others. So its not surpising especialy with a chat box that some are gonna get a little miffed off with a bad players sucking out with rubbish. your money is being lost! Saying that abusive players there is no excuse for but a little stab at someone for doing your stack imo is fine. Its like speaking aloud your frustration and see nothing wrong with that on the odd occasion. Ill admit i do it sometimes and might say why are you calling with that for!' but i follow it up with gg all gl. It all depends on the persons day if they have had a constant bad beat day its just letting a little steam off.

Im not saying its a good thing or a bad thing just that i can understand it sometimes. Think of it like road rage if someone cuts you up because of bad driving, some people get really agro and start shouting, some just keep it quiet and think you **** idiot. So its a keep it quiet in your head or blurt it out type of person that you are that this happens too. Phill hellmuth does it tony G does it maybe for the cameras but it does happen and it wont stop cos its an emotional game with money being lost. But fair play if you can hold it in :) Some do go too far with it though and that i dont really get!

Is that suppose to be an insult to the two players scotty?

Anyway, I dont mind any kind of chat. I sometimes like to give people a little bit of a hard time, usually regulars...but mostly I just chat with more recreational players.
Any kind of chat is good for the tables I think. I often see an abusive player get the whole table chatting which is great. More casual players want some kind of table chat.

Its the multitabling nits who are the problem. They not only slow the table down to a crawl, but they also never use the chat box. I was on a table the other day and someoene said "Are you all robots?", I was the only one to reply.
Im constantly seeing people typing ZZZZZZZ in the chat box before they get so bored they leave.

Been on Scottys tables many times when someone says something to him and he never replies.

Prefer to see someone be abusive then never use the chat box. Always makes me laugh.

Well as I mentioned in an earlier post, if I'm playing cash then I will virtually never chat cos I'm permanently on mini-view so can't chat. It's not that I don't like chatting at the tables, I love it, and will do it in MTTs and SnGs but I just can't do it on 5-6 tables at the same time. Likewise I know Ryan won't be chatting most of the time because he will be multitabling on miniview.

Best decision I ever made was to perma mute all chat on all sites.

Feel like missed out a bit as when youre on a table, particularly well structured MTT, it can be good to have a bit of banter.

One of the benefits of online is you can make a play/Q'able call without ever having to look oppo in the eye.  But with chat on you just know they are already clicking last hand and going to start spouting some nonsense.

Played my first game on PStars t'other day in about a year.  Made a bit of a hero call 1st hand with A high on super polarised board and got nothing but verbal from oppo who had missed everything.

For every 1 pleasant table mate I think there are 100 unpleasant types on international sites tbh, just to tilting to listen to them jabber "Jajajaajajajajajajaj" sigh.

SorrrY what I meant was that there are lots of people who I have played with for years and I think that arazi, who is a self confessed newbie, is miles better than.  I only said 2 cos they were the only well known regs I could think of at the tim...having thought out it more then it's a lot more regular players...

Yh people like to say stuff in chat to me.  Sometimes I see it and ignore. Other times I see it and reply in a calm way.  Just  a job hazard....I even get hu challenges sent to me via pm cos I win races v people. It is pretty funny but sometimes people go too far which doesn't bother me but I always worry that it could put the put other people off at the table from playing here.

I dont agree, I think any chat is better then no chat and I think botlike multitabling players put off people more than some mouthy guy on the table.

Of course some friendly chat is best.

I think some gobby chat is fine, but sometimes people go over the line with whats acceptable....I'm sure you've seen instances of it yourself.

Ideally I would be able to 12 table and chat with people....having said that only had 1 12 tabling cash session this month!

I have to agree with spades about some of the big multitabling regs. They are sooooooooooooo slow to act every hand as they are trying to juggle between 10+ tables. I know they are doing it for rakeback but it makes the games so slow when they are sat at nearly every table at my level.

The point i was making was not that there is alot of abuse in the chat it was about some of the type of abuse you see from the regs to the more recreational players.

Just seems crazy to me when i see regs trying to educate players who they rely on for their bread and butter and losing it with them when they lose a pot that is their own fault for losing or also in alot of cases when i see players who have obvi played for years blaming sky for being set up when they lose a hand because why on earth would anyone continue playing here if they thought this was true lol

And in all honesty it wasnt even a dig at these players because anyone is entiled to say what they want aslong as they dont go overboard with the comments.

Just hope i never end up that way by playing a game of poker :)
