What's the best line to take? Do I have to go broke? The villain had been fairly active and had already triple barrell bluffed me, so was definately capable of playing worse strongly here imo

I would say you have to go broke.

I would have done roughly the same as you did.

    Just a cooler innit.............

    lead out on flop
I 4b shove flop as played
can't get away with your reads

but I don't mind flatting flop to get it in on safe turn card

Nah, you can't fold sets except in exceptional circumstances like a 4 flush board or 4 card to a straight maybe. Cooler, set over set, sadly move on.

    don't agree
esp with 200bb - you could fold this board with the action but vs this player I wouldn't
there was a pretty good example of someone folding a set vs wacko I think a week or two back

    Get it in on flop

You can fold sets sometimes 200bb deep, but I wouldn't without good reads on that kind of board

You mention him being active and triple-barrel bluffing, for me this is all the info you need to get it in, also I would favour doing so on the flop.

thanks for the feedback. The reson I didn't ping it in on the flop was to give him the opportunity to keep betting. If I jam, he folds all overpairs and weak holdings.
